This week’s episode was a three hour special and featured performances by Sakamichi AKB48, Daichi Miura, CHEMISTRY, Fujimaki Ryota, Golden Bomber, Elephant Kashimashi, Kis-My-Ft2, Kanjani8, Yuzu, Cocco, Sandaime J Soul Brothers, Ozaki Hiroya, AKB48, Ayumi Hamasaki, and X JAPAN.
Remember that band that were almost at the top? The ones on a massive winning streak with the charismatic young songwriter at the helm? The ones who were leading the charge of the supposed ‘band boom’? The ones who saw it all come crumbling down when their leader, Enon Kawatani who very much like Icarus, flew too close to the sun, couldn’t keep it zipped up and perpetually tarnished everything the band had achieved? The band who payed the ultimate consequence for these actions- their completed album “Daruma Ringo” (which was scheduled for release late 2016) indefinitely shelved?
Fans of that band, Gesu no Kiwami Otome. have pondered whether they would ever see the album released- some giving up hope altogether. It looks like the dust has settled and they’ve been given a second chance, because the album has now been rescheduled for release on May 10. Not only that, they’ve dropped a new music video for the track “Kokochi Adayaka ni”. Let’s hope Enon has learned his lesson from this, or at the very least, has learned how to cover his tracks better. Naughty boy!

Idol unit CY8ER just released its very first Music Video for “Te to Te“, leading track of their upcoming second single set to be released on April 18th.
The track is a Synth-pop number hiding a subtle touch of Drum ‘n Bass, framed by bright melodic synths that summon an overall pleasant upbeat vibe. The video is pretty simple, showing the girls strolling around a train station in Tokyo, also featuring individual shots of each member enriched by occasional CG effects.
Weight training is believing. Believing builds our “now”. The far future will soon be here. When it’s time, dreams will come true!
When on March 1st LADYBEARD announced he was teaming up with bodybuilder Reika Saiki to form the definitive bodybuilding kawaii idol group, “DEADLIFT LOLITA”, not many people could have said they saw it coming. Probably, not even them saw it coming, as it is hard to imagine that they could find someone as cute and as ripped as them, but in the end, they met each other and are ready to show the world the “physically strongest idol unit ever”. The tale of sorrow, hope and destiny of this situation is the main topic of their debut single “SIX PACK TWINS”, which has been released along its MV just today! In the MV, you can check both LADYBEARD and Reika Saiki fighting baddies, performing together and showing their strongest features: their cuteness and their strength, though their vocals are not to be left behind!
Additionally, they have also released other two singles that have been already teased as the month passed: “Kimi Terasu Sairiumu”, a song about how to dance Otagei; and “Pump Up JAPAN”, a song about cheering up even though Japan’s economy is not as good as it was once, as it’s still a great place. Check the MV and info about the three singles just after the jump!
Electropop trio color-code are making themselves heard this 2017, having already released three different digital singles (one each month) and performing at Madrid, Spain; but that’s not all: a new MV for the third single, “parallel world” has just been published on their YouTube channel. The MV, which has been directed and edited by NANAMI herself, features the three members singing and posing as images of flowers are projected on them. In addition to the new MV, they have completely overhauled and updated their website, which looks flashier than ever! Finally, they have also announced that a fourth single for April is coming. Check the MV for “parallel world” just after the jump!
Spring is the start of a new year here in Japan. Many will change jobs, lifestyles, and/or places to experience a new challenge during this time. The newly-reformed idol group I’S wing displays their own transformation with their new single, “Watashi ga Watashi de Aru Koto,”.
If you are a Suiyoubi no Campanella fan that enjoyed their last album “SUPERMAN” as much as we did at ARAMA! JAPAN, you might have forgotten the fact that “UMA” was a thing! This album was a hectic, sometimes psychedellic trip into a wonderful, strange and mythical fauna of Unidentified Mysterious Animals, in which the award for the most bizarre song would have easily gone to the instrumantal track “Baku”. Now, nine months, one single and one full album after the release of UMA, the MV for this nightmarish song has been uploaded to Suiyoubi no Campanella’s YouTube channel, and if the song was already crazy enough, the music video doesn’t fall short, showcasing this strange living being, or aggregation of living beings, or whatever your mind can make out of this MV. The reason why it has been uploaded so late? Probably the MV was already made by the time UMA was released, though it didn’t finish its rendering process up until now. So. Many. Things! Check it just after the jump!
