It’s finally here! Back in 2010, ICONIQ revealed a 45 second clip of a new song, “I will love.” In 2011, a short clip of the music video for the song was posted on Avex’s YouTube page. In 2012, the song was used as the ending theme for a fashion TV show called “DRESS.” In 2013, a longer version of the video was leaked online. And now, in 2020, we have the full version! According to the uploader of the video, “I will love” was originally intended for ICONIQ’s 2011 best album, which was never released. ICONIQ has since left Avex. On April 13, Kato Miliyah will appear on the first episode of the Fuji TV drama “SUITS / Suits 2.” This will mark her debut as an actress.

Miliyah play the role of Mizuna, a talented musician who heads an artist group that is looking to venture into the US market.

Rock band SUPER BEAVER are currently celebrating the 15th anniversary since their original formation. As part of the festivities, they’ve announced that they will be resigning with major label Sony Music and releasing a new single on June 10th.

The single will be a Double A-side release featuring the upbeat “Highlight” and their “Suijou no Flight” theme song “Hitori de Ikiteita Naraba” as the lead tracks. Also included will be a self-cover of the group’s song “Mawaru, Mawaru”, which was originally recorded during their prior stint with Sony.

Earlier this year we reported that singer/songwriter TK from Ling Tosite Sigure would be releasing a new album titled “Sainou” on April 15th. As this date approaches, he has now chosen to publish the music video for the album’s closing track “copy light” to his YouTube channel.

The PV, which was directed by Yuki Wakisaka, stars comedian and novelist Naoki Matayoshi and chronicles his character’s difficulties with expressing affection. Of note, Matayoshi also worked with TK on the lyrics for the song itself.

Pop-rock quartet Awesome City Club will be releasing a brand new studio album titled “Grow apart” later this month on April 29th. This will be the group’s first full-length release since 2018’s “Catch The One” and is set to include their three previously released digital singles – “Ambivalence”, “Bluesy”, and “Vital Signs” – plus eight additional songs for a total of 11.

In advance of the record’s street date, the PV for “Vital Signs” has been uploaded to the band’s YouTube channel. This clip, directed by ONIONSKIN, is an animated work which attempts to portray one’s feelings following a recent break-up.

The entertainment industry is no exception; music festivals have been cancelled, the production and premiere of dramas have been put on halt, artists activities and promotions paused, and so on. So what are they doing instead?

This week, singer Kikkawa You has kind of been giving Utada a run for her money with unusual social media content output. The idol has been receiving attention for her new quarantine hobby: meticulously picking apart her food piece-by-piece, counting it, and sharing her findings on social media.

Her investigative research began on April 2, showcasing the 158 pieces that made up her slice of orange.

TERIYAKI BOYZ‘ 2006 song “TOKYO DRIFT”, from the movie ‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” has had enduring success. It was the most listened to Japanese song outside of Japan on Spotify last year. The music video for the song is one of the most watched ones for a Japanese song on YouTube, with nearly 220 million views.

88rising has capitalized on the song’s continual popularity by inviting rappers to freestyle over the song’s instrumental. This series was started by one of the company’s rappers, Rich Bryan, while staying at home as part of efforts to thwart the spread of COVID-19.

This series has now landed in the home of “TOKYO DRIFT”, with JP THE WAVY, ANARCHY, and Leon Fanourakis taking on the track. Check out their freestyles below!

As previously reported, on April 8, JP THE WAVY will release his debut album, “LIFE IS WAVY.” The album will feature 18 songs, and includes guests such as AKLO, VERBAL, Jay Park, MIYACHI, and Sik-K.

“LIFE IS WAVY” comes in a CD-only regular edition and a limited edition “WAVY PACK”, which includes a t-shirt designed by VERDY (who also did the album’s cover).
