ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2020 Canceled

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2020 has been canceled. Originally scheduled to take place August 8 – 10 at Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki Prefecture, the festival’s lineup included Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, NUMBER GIRL, HYDE, and BiSH, among others.

Several reasons related to the pandemic were given, including uncertainty about where the pandemic will be in August, as well as the large number of people coming into Ibaraki Prefecture to attend the festival.

The festival’s organizers did express disappointment at this development, in part because they saw the festival as a means of regaining the joy that they’ve lost during the pandemic.
