This week, Sakurazaka46 topped the Hot 100 single chart with their new single “BAN”, with 33,045 points.

Aimer topped the Hot Albums chart with her new album “Walpurgis.”

YOASOBI retook the top spot on the Artist 100 chart.

Akimoto Yasushi topped the Hot 100 Lyricists chart.

Ayase retook the top spot on the Hot 100 Composers chart.

Yuuri retook the top spot on the Streaming Songs chart with his digital single “Dry Flower”, topping the chart for the 11th non-consecutive week.

ONE OK ROCK topped the Download Songs chart with their new digital single “Renegades.”

Aimer also topped the Download Albums chart with “Walpurgis.”

Johnny & Associates announced today on its official website that almost all the members of its Johnny’s Jr. group Travis Japan, along with one of their managers, have tested positive for COVID-19. The members are Miyachika Kaito, Nakamura Kaito, Shimekake Ryuya, Yoshizawa Shizuya, Matsuda Genta, and Matsukura Kaito.

The group was supposed to hold the two Sapporo dates of its “Travis Japan Live tour 2021 IMAGE NATION ~Zenkoku Tour Shichatte mo Ii Desu ka!?~” tour on April 26 & 27, but they were suddenly canceled. On the 26th, Yoshizawa said that he was in poor physical condition. PCR tests were given to the entire group, with everyone testing positive except Kawashima Noeru.

As previously reported, YUKI will release her new album, “Terminal”, on April 28. The album will contain 13 songs, including both songs from her last single, “Baby, it’s you / My lovely ghost.” “Terminal” will be released in a CD+DVD limited edition and a CD only regular edition, with the limited edition DVD containing the music video for “Baby, it’s you.”

YUKI recently released the music video for “My lovely ghost.” Paranormal activity takes place in YUKI’s bedroom in the music video, which features many colorful and sumptuous settings that exist on this plane and in others. Check it out below, along with more inforamtion on her new album!

Top actress Riisa Naka has brought more questionable publicity to the ill-fated Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games. It was recently revealed that she declined being a torchbearer for the upcoming event, shortly after news came out that her husband Akiyoshi Nakao tested positive for COVID-19. Naturally, the two were in close contact.

Akiyoshi is currently in stable condition just suffering from a slight fever. Thankfully Riisa has yet to test positive for the virus. Actor and talent Yusuke Kamiji was also in contact with Akiyoshi, who will be undergoing his own testing.

Last week Japan officially entered it’s 3rd state of emergency as the Olympics are supposed to happen in just 3 months. Sporting officials have continually had to adjust plans for the initial 2020 Tokyo games, with last month it was confirmed that no international fans would be allowed to attend.

The opening date for the Tokyo Olympics is still planned for July 23rd.

FujiTV has announced a brand new drama that is sure to be a hit, a new medical based series titled “Night Doctor“. The theme for the drama is quite topical, as it will focus on Japan’s emergency medical care system which is currently suffering from a huge labor shortage.

The doctors are becoming overwhelmed with work, and the situation is worsened by young doctors just not having the proper experience. In particular coverage during the night is much worse compared to the daytime. Taking place in the fictional hospital “Hakuoukai Asahi Kaihin”, they create a special night doctor system.

Alt. rock trio GRAPEVINE have announced that they will be releasing a new studio album titled “Atarashii Kajitsu” on May 26th. The record will run ten tracks in length, including their previously released digital single “Gifted” and neo-soul influenced opener “Nezumi Joudo”.

Well ahead of its street date, the band have chosen to publish the music video for “Nezumi Joudo” to their YouTube channel. The clip was directed by Takumi Shiga and features choreography by MIKIKO, marking the first time that she and GRAPEVINE have worked together.
