Kumicky Announces Mature Image Change

Former Popteen model Kumiko Funayama – often known as Kumicky – has announced an image change since her graduation from Popteen. In the November issue of the magazine “With” she appears with a more mature look than her former days in Popteen.

HERO ends on a high note, Takuya Kimura: “Thank you everyone”

Takuya Kimura’s starring drama “HERO” has recorded the highest viewer ratings among dramas aired in the golden timeslot this year.

The last episode shown last September 22 achieved an average ratings of 22.9%, peaking at 25.3% and average ratings for all of its 11 episodes was 21.3%. It has been 7 years since the last HERO movie and 13 years since the first season. With Keiko Kitagawa as the new female lead, the drama debuted with 26.5% and remained with high ratings thereafter.

Takuya Kimura commented “Thank you to the drama staff, cast, and everyone who have seen the drama!!!” Producer Tsuneya Watanabe also expressed his gratitude “Thank you to the many people who supported and to those who cheered us on. It was really encouraging.”

Previews for Yun*chi’s upcoming single are now available

Previews for electro-pop singer Yun*chi‘s upcoming single, “Wonderful Wonder World*”, are now available on her YouTube channel. The title track features lyrics written by Yun*chi herself and production by prolific musician Tobinai Masahiro, while the first B-side “Fairy*” was produced by Momoi Haruko and arranged by indie electro unit MISSILE CHEWBACCA, and second B-side “Dancing*” was produced by Londoner bo en featuring speaking parts by Emiri Katou (voice actress in Log Horizon) and co-production by U-SKE. Masato Sakai and Yui Aragaki are back in “Legal High” SP

It was announced that Legal High, starring Masato Sakai and Yui Aragaki will be back as a Special. The Special of the popular comedy courtroom drama with an unconvential lawyer will be broadcasted on November 22, 9pm at Fuji TV. This time Kensuke Komikado (Sakai) and Machiko Mayuzumi (Aragaki) will be challenging a case of medical malpratice at a major general hospital.

The wife of a male patient who died in the hospital filed a suit and is seeking compensation. Komikado will serve as the defense. A new character, his rival, will be a lawyer named Kazuma Kujo representing the complainant and seeking a huge compensation from the hospital.

The popular drama already produced 2 seasons and an SP last April 2013.

The regular cast of Katsuhisa Namase, Eiko Koike and Junnosuke Taguchi will also be appearing in the special. The cast for Kujo and others will be announced at a later date.

Yamashita Tomohisa, who has been displaying his English skills on his program, “Otona no Kiss Eigo,” admitted recently on a variety show that he made a simple but embarrassing mistake in his pronunciation.

Nano teases tracks for 3rd album “Rock on.”

Nearly 2 year since the released on her last original album, it has been revealed Nano is currently preparing her 3rd album “Rock on.” for release early next year.

A new preview clip for the movie Hibi Rock starring Shuhei Nomura is released. The new trailer sees protagonist and aspiring rock frontman Takuro Hibinuma (Shuhei) suddenly becoming inspired to get back to writing music upon seeing the music video of extremely popular top idol Saki Utagawa’s new single “Sunrise”.

Get a glimpse of the music video and its making of and see Fumi Nikaido take on the role of a pop idol.

“Sunrise” was written and produced by DECO*27 (Deko Niina). Movie is directed by Yu Irie and will be released on November 22, 2014.
