To celebrate both the 15th and 20th anniversary of Perfume, the girls have put together a special project called “Reframe THEATER EXPERIENCE with you“. The special will consist of a compilation of performances from “Reframe 2019” held at the Tokyo LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in 2019.

Due to COVID-19, many concerts and music festivals had to be canceled so the girls wanted to put together a special show for their fans. While watching this in a movie theater isn’t exactly the same experience, it’s still safer compared to a traditional music venue. It will be released to select theaters on September 4th, 2020.

The brand new trailer for the upcoming film “A Beloved Wife” recently dropped, and this just may be one of the most anticipated films of the year in Japan. On YouTube alone the trailer has received over 5 million views, with the Oricon upload receiving the bulk at 4.8 million.

“A Beloved Wife” follows Gota (Gaku Hamada) and his wife Chika (Asami Mizukawa). Gota is a unsuccessful screenwriter while Chika is a housewife, the two have been married for a decade and have a young daughter named Aki.

Their marriage is quite dysfunctional, as Chika is annoyed that Gota is unable to earn any money. Gota tried to mend their relationship via skinship, but Chika has no desire to have sex with him anymore.

July 22nd marks the official release of Kalen Anzai’s latest single “Bokuraha Tsuyouku Nareru“. This is Anzai’s fifth digital single overall, last being “FAKE NEWS REVOLUTION”.

The video debuts the singer’s new logo and features the Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Band clad in white, with Kalen herself even taking part in the performance on soprano saxophone.

In an interview with BARKS, Anzai revealed that she originally began to work on the song 4-5 years ago in High School. Having written the lyrics back then, this was also one of the very first demo songs she recorded. She’s re-recorded it about 5 times, and already stated that she’s sang this song the most out of everything else in her catalog.

It has been announced that fan favorite Tomoya Nagase will be leaving Johnny & Associates in 2021, he is currently scheduled to leave office by the end of March. Nagase is currently the lead singer and one of the guitarists in the band TOKIO. Despite Nagase leaving, it is reported that they will continue activities as a 3-piece unit.

TOKIO has been in limbo since 2018, after the termination of their bass player Tatsuya Yamaguchi, after his “forced indecency” with a 16-year-old girl was revealed.

This week, TWICE topped the Hot 100 single chart with their single “Fanfare”, with 23,776 points.

Mrs. GREEN APPLE topped the Hot Albums chart with their new best album “5.”

YOASOBI retook the top spot on the Streaming Songs chart with their digital single “Yoru ni Kakeru”, topping the chart for the seventh non-consecutive week.

Yonezu Kenshi topped the Download Songs chart with his new digital single “Kanden.”

NiziU topped the Download Albums chart for the second consecutive week with their pre-debut digital mini album “Make you happy.”

Actor Ryusei Yokohama has unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19, the news was revealed by his agency on July 21st, 2020. Yokohama’s agency Stardust Promotion revealed that on the night of July 20th after training for an upcoming stage play, his fever was not immediately detected from the thermometer.

While traveling home Yokohama started to feel discomfort and decided to visit a medical facility where it was confirmed that he tested positive. Yokohama is currently hospitalized and is receiving standard treatment from the hospital. He reassured fans that he is making every effort to recover ASAP.
