Ayumi Hamasaki’s ex-boyfriend Maro does steamy photoshoot for gay magazine

The coverboy for the November issue of top Japanese gay magazine Badi is none other than Maro, ex-boyfriend of pop icon Ayumi Hamasaki.

The cover is part of the promotion for his movie debut Tokyo ~The City of Glass.~ In the 8-page spread, the dancer/actor/singer-songwriter/model/grass eater/homeless man poses in various states of undress to titillate the gay men of Japan. The magazine comes with a 90 minute DVD. The behind the scenes footage is actually steamier than the content in the magazine. The DVD also features a trailer for Tokyo ~The City of Glass~, which includes footage of Maro’s steamy scene.

Shun Oguri: “My child is unreasonably cute”

Actor (and recent first-time father) Shun Oguri appeared at FCG Studio on the 6th for a press conference for his upcoming Fuji TV drama “Nobunaga Concerto”.

When Shinichi Kurabe, the MC of the conference and announcer of the agency, congratulated on the recent birth of Oguri’s child, he thanked him with a smile. Oguri continued, “I am really happy and my child is unreasonably cute, so I think I have to do my best for this child.” He also added, with a fatherly tone, “Everyone on the filming site says I always seem happy; however, the role I am playing is a high school student, so I will also try not to show that side of me.

DA PUMP return after 3 and a half year hiatus with “New Position”

Dance and vocal unit DA PUMP have just released the video for their new song “New Position“, an uptempo tune from producer m.c.A・T.

As one of the few male groups unassociated with Johnny’s & Associates talent agency, they were the first to gain major popularity reaching their peak in 2001 with the release of “Da Best of Da Pump“, but after some scandals and a series of departures form the group, they went on hiatus a couple of times to reorganize.

This new single follows their 27th single “Can’t get your love/if… arekarabokura” released back in 2011 and features a 7-member lineup with main vocals by ISSA.

Former Girls’ Generation member Jessica in hot water over possible plagiarism

Japanese netizens are currently in an uproar over former Girls’ Generation (Shoujo Jidai) member Jessica Jung. Evidence has come out that Jessica and her company may have plagiarized a Japanese fashion company, also titled ‘BLANC’. However, the plagiarizing wasn’t just in the name, but the entire website layout and logo design looks similar.

The other day Jessica’s company changed the brand’s name from “BLANC” to “BLANC & ECLARE”, probably due to news of the Japanese brand with the same name.

Ikimonogakari to Perform Theme Song for “Ao Haru Ride” Live-Action Film

It was announced today that Ikimonogakari will be be performing “Kirari”, the theme song for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Io Sakisaka’s Ao Haru Ride shoujo manga starring Tsubasa Honda and Masahiro Higashide.

According to Crunchyroll, the director of the film, Takahiro Miki has worked on several promotional video for their past singles including “YELL” and “Kaze ga Fuiteiru” , so the band happily accepted the offer to provide their new song for the film. “Kirari” is written/composed by the band’s guitarist Yoshiki Mizuno and arranged by Akimitsu Honma, who is famous for his producing works for Porno Graffitti and Ayumi Hamasaki.

The movie will open in Japan on December 13.

Sakanaction reveals more details about new single

As previously reported, Sakanaction is set to release their 10th single “Sayonara wa Emotion / Hasu no Hana” on October 29. The band has now revealed more information on the single, such as the cover and the tracklist. The single version of “Hasu no Hana” is set to debut on TOKYO FM’s SCHOOL OF LOCK radio program on the night of October 7. The next day, October 8, sees the digital release of the movie version of the song via iTunes and Recochoku, ahead of the October 11 release of Kinkyori Renai, the movie it is the theme song for. The movie version of “Hasu no Hana” will only be released digitally. The single version of “Hasu no Hana” is described as being more psychedelic in nature compared to the movie version.
