J-rock royalty L’Arc~en~Ciel is celebrating 30 years in the industry! They celebrated this milestone with a special concert titled “30th L’Anniversary Starting Live L’APPY BIRTHDAY!”. The groups first release was an indie single titled “Floods of Tears / Yasouka” released in 1992. However, the band held their very first live performance on May 30th, 1991 in Osaka.

L’Arc~en~Ciel performed 21 songs in total spanning their long career including the hits “HONEY” and “flower”. Fans were also in for a surprise when they performed “Dune” from their very first indie studio album of the same name.

Little Glee Monster member Serina has currently halted all of her entertainment activities, her hiatus began in December 2020. At the time her agency revealed that she would be taking a break due to poor physical condition. On May 31st, 2021 an update was made on Little Glee Monster’s official website updating on Serina’s condition.

Fans had been worried since almost 6 months had went by with no further updates on the status of her health. In the update on Little Glee Monster’s website it was revealed that Serina has been diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar Disorder.

Electronic rock band Newspeak have announced that they will be releasing their second studio album “Turn” on July 28th. This will be the group’s first record as a trio and comes just over a year-and-a-half after the release of their debut album “No Man’s Empire”.

“Turn” will include the band’s previously released digital singles “Pyramid Shakes”, “Parachute Flare”, and “Blinding Lights”, plus ten new songs for a total of 13. To coincide with this reveal, the trio have published the music video for the album’s sixth track “Great Pretenders” to YouTube.

Earlier this month we reported that psychedelic rock band Odotte Bakari no Kuni would be releasing a new album titled “moana” on June 2nd. With this date nearly upon us, the quintet have decided to publish a music video for the longplay’s fourth track “Twilight” to their YouTube channel.

The PV combines shots of the group’s performance of the song in a treehouse-like setting with landscape shots of the surrounding area. Like their previous music video for “Hey human”, this clip was directed by Hideto Hotta.

Acoustic duo the LOW-ATUS – composed of Takeshi Hosomi (ELLEGARDEN/the HIATUS/MONOEYES) and TOSHI-LOW (BRAHMAN/OAU) – will be releasing their first studio album next month on June 9th. This record, titled “Tabidori Kouta / Songbirds of Passage”, will include eleven tracks and feature songwriting from both of the group’s members.

Ahead of the album’s release date, a music video for its lead track “Saboten” has been published to YouTube. The clip, directed by Shuichi Bamba, was filmed in Fukushima Prefecture and chronicles the shift from night to day while the pair performs the song.

So far this year, Hoshino Gen has released two digital single, “Souzou” and “Fushigi.” The former serves as the 35th anniversary “Super Mario Bros.” CM song, while the latter serves as the theme song for the TBS drama “Kikazaru Koi ni wa Riyuu ga Atte.”

On June 23, Gen will release both songs on CD, as part of his new single “Fushigi / Souzou.” This is his first physical single since Febrary 2018’s “Doraemon.” In addition to the two A-sides, the single will contain the “Omisoka” version of “Uchi de Odorou”, which he performed on Kohaku Uta Gassen last year.

“Fushigi / Souzou” will also feature a new song, “Soshitara.” It is the full version of a song that Gen shared with Bananaman‘s Shitara Osamu on the May 14 episode of his TBS radio show “Bananaman no Banana Moon GOLD.” The song caused a stir on social media, with many requests for a full version of it to be released. Gen heard his fans and obliged.

“Fushigi / Souzou” will be released in five verions. The “kansha” limited edition will come in CD+DVD and CD+Blu-ray formats. The video disc will feature footage from “Gen Hoshino’s 10th Anniversary Concert ‘Gratitude’.” The “enkai” limited edition will also come in CD+DVD and CD+Blu-ray formats. The video disc will feature footage from “YELLOW PASS Live Streaming ‘Enkai’.” There will also be a CD only regular edition.
