Why watch: Known as the sequel to the famous Death Note movie series, the film is surely much anticipated.

Set 10 years after the first movie hits the screens, the story centers around 6 Death Notes scattered on Earth 10 years after the KIRA incident and the battle that ensues between Kira and L’s spiritual successor.

Why watch: If you are fond of jpop group “GreeeeN”, you definitely have to check this out as this is based on the true story of the 4 member Japanese pop group and their hit song “Kiseki”.

You also get to see Matsuzaka and Suda play as brothers for the first time.

Kaizoku to Yobareta Otoko

Why watch: It’s Okada’s biggest film of the year and created by the same team that produced his mega hit movie “Eien no Zero”. The film is set shortly after World War II.

Joined by a star studded cast and to be released in the very busy December movie season, expectations are definitely high for this.

Nakimushi Pierrot no Kekkonshiki

Why watch: While this may look like your typical tearjerker film based on a non fiction novel where one of the couple dies after marriage, it gives due importance to the power of smiles.

Get to witness as well Shida Mirai and Ryusei Ryo in a wedding scene.

 

 

Kin Medal Otoko

Why watch: It’s Hey! Say! JUMP Chinen Yuri’s first starring film and boasts a huge star studded cast. Both Uchimura and Chinen play the same person Senichi followed from his teens to adulthood.

Lots of exaggerated expressions as Senichi obsessed at winning gold. There’s also the dance battle scene between Chinen and Tsuchiya Tao to look forward to.

Why watch: Movie fave Oguri Shun plays a detective this time and battles it out with a man in a frog mask. It’s bound to be thrilling as the murderer sets target on his wife and son.
 

 

HIGH & LOW THE RED RAIN

Why watch: Matsuda Ryuhei plays yet another idiosyncratic role in this film were he plays a lazy, good-for-nothing idler mooching off of the good will of his brother’s family.

His relationship with his nephew changes when they embark on a Hawaiian trip to chase after the beautiful Eri.
