Back in March, NONA REEVES released their 20th anniversary best album, “POP’N SOUL 20~The Very Best of NONA REEVES.” On June 14, the group will release another best album, “Billboard Best 2011-2016.” This album will contain songs from the period they were on Billboard Records. The 16 tracks on “Billboard Best 2011-2016” were chosed by NONA REEVES and will include songs from the three studio albums and three cover albums the group released while on Billboard Records. With the release of their best album earlier this year, NONA REEVES returned to their original major label, Warner Music Japan, leaving Billboard Records. On June 14, RHYMESTER will release their new single, “Mic no Hosomichi.” The song serves as the opening theme for the TV Tokyo drama “SR Saitama no Rapper ~Mic no Hosomichi~.” This tie-in came about after the group met with the drama’s writer / director Irie Yu. The music video for “Mic no Hosomichi” was recently released and it features RHYMESTER in scenes of nature such as the forest and the shore. It has been announced that legendary rocker YOSHIKI will attend this years Anime Expo for a special screening of X JAPAN’s documentary “We Are X”.
The screening will take place on Sunday July 2nd at the J.W Marriott. Following the screening, an exclusive live Q&A with YOSHIKI will be held. Besides the screening and Q&A, the film “We Are X” will serve as the official sponsor for the “Anime Expo Masquerade & World”. The Masquerade has been a long standing tradition in Anime Expo, where it is both a performance and cosplay competition. People from all over the world come to show off their cosplays and compete for the grand cash prize.
“WE ARE X” profiles the iconic Japanese rock band and its enigmatic frontman YOSHIKI, who is a composer, classically trained pianist, and drummer. YOSHIKI is credited as the creative force behind the bands monumental success. The film features interviews with A-list rockers such as Marilyn Manson, Gene Simmons, and Stan Lee. “We Are X” delves into X JAPAN’s attempt to break into the American music industry, while also taking a look at the bands hardships including suicide and “cultism” among fans.

The official avex YouTube channel has pulled back the curtain on the newest video from co-ed group AAA, a summer pop smash entitled “No Way Back“.
With their new 6-member formation following the departure of Chiaki Ito this past March, the video for “No Way Back” is a poolside event. It focuses on dance choreography against a highly stylized white set with soft aqua tones that contrast the powerful adult vibes given off by the group members through their expressions in the closeup shots.

In 2007, Che’Nelle debuted with the song “I Fell in Love with the DJ.” She is now celebrating her 10th anniversary with the album “Destiny”, out June 14. An apology press conference from actor Keisuke Koide (33), who was suspended indefinitely due to drinking and fornicating with a 17-year-old year, was scheduled to be held on the 9th but has since been announced that it was postponed to a later, unknown date.
According to Livedoor, tabloid Nippon Sports reported on the 12th that this a result of a decision from Amuse, Koide’s affiliated office. But why?
The problem became apparent on the 8th, the day before the release of the weekly tabloid “FRIDAY” with the girl’s confession. Since the reveal of the girl’s attempts to extort Koide of 5 million yen, there have people questioning her intentions with him–whether she laid out a “honey trap” to squeeze some money out of him, or if she was really forced into participating against her will.
A venue was scheduled with intentions to hold a press conference at noon on June 9. However, with discussion from his office, they ultimately postponed it following developing news regarding the girl’s credibility.
