Nishino Kana Continues the Love with “LOVE it”

As previously reported, Nishino Kana will release her new album, “LOVE it”, on November 15. This new album will include the singles “Dear Bride”, “Pa”, “Girls”, and “Te wo Tsunagu Riyuu.” It will also contain a new version of “Kimi ga Suki”, which was originally on Kana’s last album, “Just LOVE.”

The DVD that comes with the limited edition of “LOVE it” will include the music videos for all the album’s singles, plus a special video for the song “Torisetsu.” This video features live and rehearsal footage of the song’s performance on Kana’s recent dome tour.

Earlier today, Yomiuri TV aired this year’s edition of its annual year end music special, Best Hits Kayousai 2017. The show featured performances by Seiko Matsuda, Daichi Miura, Kanjani8, Sandaime J Soul Brothers, Keyakizaka46, and many more. Check it out below!

Nogizaka46 turn into mouse girls for new laptop CM

Idol group Nogizaka46 have transformed into mouse girls for a brand new laptop CM, appropriately titled the Mouse laptop.

The five main members selected for the CM are Erika Ikuta, Rina Ikoma, Asuka Saito, Mai Shiraishi, and Nanase Nishino. The five mouse girls form a rock band and sing about the laptops major selling point, providing free 24 hour support for any issue regarding the laptop. The director of the CM praised Saito, who played the drums. She did a completely perfect performance on the first try, not having to re-shoot any of her scenes.

The CM will begin to air on television starting on November 20th. In celebration of the laptop’s release and the airing of the CM, a special appreciation campaign was created for people who purchase the laptop. Up until December 31st buyers will receive a special limited edition t-shirt with a drawing of the Nogizaka46 mouse band. Further details on the promotion will be revealed on the Mouse x Nogizaka46 collaboration website, which will be updated on November 20th.

Performers Announced for the 68th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen

On December 31, NHK will air the 68th edition of its annual year end music special, Kohaku Uta Gassen. The show will air from 7:15 PM JST to 11:45 PM JST. As previously reported, the show will be hosted by Uchimura Teruyoshi, with Arimura Kasumi leading the Red Team and Ninomiya Kazunari leading the White Team.

Do As Infinity Release Short PV for New Single “Keshin no Juu”

On December 6th Do As Infinity will release their 31st single “Keshin no Juu.” This will also be Do As Infinity’s third consecutive single with Sawano Hiroyuki as sound producer. “Keshin no Juu” is currently serving as the ending theme to the TV anime Juuni Taisen and will be released in 3 editions.

The CD only version comes with the bonus track “Lovely Day” whereas the CD+DVD version comes with the PV and the CD+DVD+GOODS edition comes with an original folding fan.

In the PV, lead singer Tomiko Van and guitarist Owatari Ryo stay true to the song’s title “Keshin no Juu” or “Incarnate Beast” and sport multicolored contacts in fangs as they sing and dance in front of flames and a temple.

Namie Amuro stars in docomo CM celebrating her 25th Anniversary

On the night of November 13th, cell phone company NTT docomo premiered an ad starring Namie Amuro on Shibuya Scramble’s LED screens. The ad features Namie rocking styles from the 90s, 2000s, the early 2010s, and the present.

Announced last month on her official facebook page, the ad is in collaboration with NTT Docomo who have partnered with the singer to both celebrate her 25th anniversary and to promote her record-breaking compilation album “Finally”. The company has also recently debuted a brand new portion of their website solely dedicated to the collaboration which features brand new promotional images of the singer.

Winners and Nominees for the 59th Japan Record Awards Announced

Today TBS (the Tokyo Broadcasting System) has published both this year’s set of winners for the Japan Record Awards as well as the nominees for the Song of the Year and Best New Artist categories.  The Japan Record Awards are a Japanese music awards show akin to what the Grammies are in the United States and it can be considered a great honor to be selected for any award on the list below.

Of particular note among this year’s Song of the Year Nominations are Nogizaka46’s “Influencer”, Kiyoshi Hikawa’s “Otoko no Zesshou”, Daichi Miura’s “EXCITE”, and SEKAI NO OWARI’s “RAIN.”  Also worth mentioning is the recipient of this year’s Album of the Year award:  Suchmo’s “THE KIDS”, the break-out release from an up-and-coming young band.

The 59th Japan Record Awards will air on December 30th, which is when we’ll find out who this year’s Best New Artist will be, as well as which of the song nominations will receive the coveted Grand Prix award.  Please read on below for a look at the full list of winners and nominees and a healthy congratulations to each and every one of them.
