Atsuko Maeda Is Pregnant

Last month, it was announced that former AKB48 member Atsuko Maeda had married actor Katsuji Ryo in July. They are now set to start a family as it’s been announced that Atsuko is now pregnant with the couple’s first child.

YOSHIKI donates 10 million yen to earthquake relief, vows to keep trying to crack U.S market

Rock legend YOSHIKI has donated 10 million yen to areas affected by the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi earthquake.

After learning about the devastation caused by the massive Hokkaido earthquake on September 6th YOSHIKI was quick to help in his own way. He posted a message of support on his official Instagram page.

Naomi Wantanabe to provide Japanese dub for Amy Schumer’s “I Feel Pretty”

Plus size diva Naomi Wantanabe has landed lead role in the Japanese dub for the film “I Feel Pretty“.

Wantanabe will voice Renee Bennett played by fellow plus size diva Amy Schumer. Renee is an average woman who has big insecurities over her appearance. She works for a cosmetics firm called Lily LeClaire, in an offsite location from their headquarters. Renee has big dreams of working for the head office located in Fifth Avenue New York.

Kinoko Teikoku to Release New Album “Time Lapse”

Back in July, Sato Chiaki made her solo debut “SickSickSickSick.” She’s now ready to release a new album with her band, Kinoko Teikoku. On September 12, they will release “Time Lapse.” This is Kinoko Teikoku’s first album since November 2016’s “Ai no Yukue.”

“Time Lapse” contains 13 new songs, some of which Kinoko Teikoku has been played in the live shows of late. The album will come in a limited edition and a regular edition, with the limited edition containing a bonus CD. This bonus CD is a re-release of the band’s now out of print 2011 demo CD “Yoru ga Aketara.”

In support of their new album, Kinoko Teikoku has released two music videos, “Kin Mokusei no Yoru” and “Yumemiru Koro wo Sugite mo.” Both can be seen below, along with more information on this release!

Tina Tamashiro to star in live-action “Hell Girl” film

The popular anime series “Hell Girl” will be getting the live-action treatment next year. A film has been green-lit and is scheduled to be released in fall 2019.

Actress/Model Tina Tamashiro has been selected to play the lead role of Ai Enma. Fans of live-action shoujo films are most likely more than familiar with Tamashiro, in the past she’s starred in “Wolf Girl and Black Prince”, “P and JK “, “Sagrada Reset”, and “Missions of Love” which just came out in June 2018.

“Hell Girl”‘s first anime episode aired in October 2005, one month later the series made it’s manga debut in the monthly magazine “Nakayoshi”.

Shingo Katori stars in hilarious new CM for Family Mart

Actor Shinto Katori is the star of a brand new CM for the popular convenience store chain Family Mart.

The CM is promoting Family Mart’s series of side dishes known as “Mom’s dining room”. The food from the series is meant to bring a nostalgic feeling, replicating comfort food that tastes just as good as home cooking.
