Ryusei Yokohama’s anan issue “sells out”, photobook reprinted for the 5th time

Actor Ryusei Yokohama is well on his way to becoming Japan’s biggest “ikemen“. He is currently the cover boy on the latest issue of the popular magazine anan.

His issue has been selling so well many retailers sold out of their stock just based on pre-orders alone. Retailers that by June 5th they had no more copies left to sell (the actual release date for his issue was June 6th). Since the magazine is a weekly publication, it’s extremely uncommon for them to ever have to reprint issues.

BiSH release new MV for “DiSTANCE”

Girl group BiSH has released a brand new MV for their latest track “DiSTANCE“. The song will serve as one of the main promotional tracks from their upcoming studio album.

Due out on July 3rd, “CARROTS and STiCKS” is the groups third major studio album overall. The album will be available in 4 different versions. Priced at 10,000 yen the deluxe limited edition will have a 2CD+Blu-ray, coming with MVs, a concert, and 100 page photobook. It will all be housed in a metal box.

Morning Musume will reveal their 15th generation on June 22nd

Back in February 2019 Hello!Project group Morning Musume ’19 announced that they would be holding auditions for new members of the group. A long standing tradition, this will be the 15th generation overall.

Over the course of roughly 2 months, 3 rounds were held for the auditions. Applicants were notified on May 17th whether or not they would be moving forward. Recently at an event for the group’s latest single “Jinsei Blues / Seishun Night” a date was given for when the results would be announced.

Ken Kamikita to release his Second Full-Length Album “Archē”

Nearly four years after the release of his debut album, singer/songwriter Ken Kamikita has announced that he will be releasing his second longplay on June 26th. Titled “Archē”, after the Grecian word for “beginning”, “source”, and “principle”, the 10-track record is meant to mark the start of a new phase of Kamikita’s activities.

Though the album will only be issued in a single edition, its physical release will include a bonus CD containing an additional five songs. Ahead of the release, both a music video for opening track “Players” and a cross-fade for the larger album have been uploaded to Kamikita’s YouTube channel.

Nogizaka46, B’z, Suda Masaki, Shiina Ringo, and Official HIGE DANdism Top the Oricon Charts for the Week of 5/27 – 6/2

This week, Nogizaka46 topped the Combined Single chart with their single “Sing Out!”, with 1,014,803 points in its fourth week.

B’z topped the Combined Album chart with their new album “NEW LOVE”, with 206,714 points in its first week.

Nogizaka46 also topped the Single chart with “Sing Out!”, selling 1,004,259 copies in its first week.

B’z also topped the Album chart with “NEW LOVE”, selling 206,714 copies in its first week.

Suda Masaki topped the Digital Single chart for the third consecutive week with his digital single “Machigai Sagashi”, selling 40,717 copies in its third week.

Shiina Ringo topped the Digital Album chart with her new album “Sandokushi”, selling 9,989 copies in its first week.

Official HIGE DANdism topped the Streaming chart for the second consecutive week with their single “Pretender”, with 2,705,200 streams in its seventh week.

Hideaki Tokunaga to release Self-Cover Best Album “Taiyou ga Ippai Plein Soleil”

Earlier this year singer/songwriter Hideaki Tokunaga announced that he would be releasing a special self-cover compilation titled “Taiyou ga Ippai Plein Soleil ~Self-Cover Best II~” on July 3rd. This record sees Tokunaga revisiting many of his most famous songs and re-imagining them in the style of classic jazz.

In advance of the album’s July release, a pair of music videos for tracks “Kagayaki nagara…” and “Taiyou ga Ippai” have been uploaded to the singer’s YouTube channel. The PVs focus on Tokunaga’s performance of the re-arranged tracks, each flavored to match the style of the song on display.

THE CHARM PARK unveils all of the info. about his upcoming Mini Album “Standing Tall”

Back in April we reported that pop singer/songwriter THE CHARM PARK would be releasing a new mini-album on July 3rd. Now that this date is less than a month away, he has chosen to publish all of the details about the release online.

Titled “Standing Tall”, this record will consist of six new songs from Charm – including the already revealed “Hana ga Saku Michi” and “Stars Colliding”. The mini-album’s lead track, “Ordinary”, has also been selected as the latest CM song for CASIO’s “G-SHOCK & BABY-G” brands.
