On December 31, the 70th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will air. The performers have already been announced, but there has been an addition: Mariya Takeuchi. In fact, this performance will be her first on Kohaku.

On this year’s Kohaku, Mariya will perform her 2012 single “Inochi no Uta.” The song is a self-cover. The original version of “Inochi no Uta”, which Mariya wrote, was released by Mana Kana in 2009 and served as the theme song for the 2009 NHK asadora “Dandan.”

This year’s FNS Kayousai will take place on December 4 and 11. The first set of performers was recently revealed, and now the second set has been released.

The first night will now feature acts such Koda Kumi, LiSA, Shirota Yu, and ISSA (DA PUMP). It will also feature a peformance from the musical “Hairspray”, featuring Watanabe Naomi and Crystal Kay.

The second night’s lineup has now been revealed as well! V6, Perfume, Ikimonogakari, BiSH, King & Prince, Hinatazaka46, and Fairies are among the acts set to perform. See who else is performing below!

GQ JAPAN has revealed its “GQ MEN OF THE YEAR 2019”! The award ceremony took place today at the Tokyo American Club. The winners of the awards are men who have influenced the readers of GQ JAPAN throughout the year. Editor-in-chief Suzuki Masafumi said that the awards focus on men who have formed their own identity without concern for gender norms, national borders, or cultural barriers. The winners of this year’s awards include King & Prince (the first win for a Johnny’s group), kemio, Yokohama Ryusei, and Kaku Kento. Find out who else won below!

Alternative rock quartet Halo at Yojohan have announced that they will be releasing a new studio album titled “ANATOMIES” next year on January 29th. This will be the group’s second longplay together, and their first since October 2018’s “swanflight”.

“ANATOMIES” will include the band’s previously released digital singles “Hanakazari no Uta” and “Naraku”, as well as ten new songs – among them the Yoshiaki Dewa-produced lead tracks “Innocent Pray” and “Sosei” – for a total of 12. Should the album be reserved before Christmas Day – at participating retailers – it will also include a code for accessing live footage from the group’s recent concert tour.

Back in October we reported that pop singer/songwriter THE CHARM PARK would be releasing a revamp of his debut album “Reverse & Rebirth” on November 20th. Now that this date has arrived, a music video for the longplay’s lead track “Gravity” has been uploaded to Charm’s YouTube channel.

Directed by Kosuke Sugimoto, who also worked on Charm’s PVs for “Lost” and “Timeless”, the animated video focuses on a character’s exploration of a zero gravity space. Additionally, a special website which features commentary on the release from other musicians like Huwie Ishizaki, ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION’s Masafumi Goto, and Straightener’s Atsushi Horie has also been opened.

Earlier this month singer/songwriter Fumiya Enuma released his second full-length album “Sore wa Ryuusenkei“. Following a two week delay, the record has now been made available on both digital download and streaming services.

In conjunction with this release, the music video for album track “Yumemiru Himajin” has been uploaded to YouTube. This clip mixes both performance and documentary footage, as well as several nature shots.
