Following the spread of the new coronavirus worldwide and the cancellation of the 2020 World Figure Skating Championships, Fuji TV has suddenly decided to air a music special. On March 21, this special, “Kinkyu Namahoso! FNS Ongaku Tokubetsu Bangumi Haru wa Kanarazu Kuru” will air. It will air from 7 PM JST to 10 PM JST.

The goal of “Kinkyu Namahoso! FNS Ongaku Tokubetsu Bangumi Haru wa Kanarazu Kuru” is to cheer up the public about the coming of spring through the power of music. The special will be hosted by Fuji TV announcers Enami Daijiro and Nagashima Yumi. Performers on the show include SixTONES, Koda Kumi, NUMBER GIRL, Elephant Kashimashi, E-girls, AI, Kanjani8, and Chisato Moritaka. See who else is performing below!

Cocomi, the eldest daughter of Takuya Kimura and Shizuka Kudo, has made her modeling debut in a very big way. Cocomi is the cover girl for the latest issue of Vogue Japan. Not only is this her first official work as a model, but it’s also her very first public appearance in the media. How many other people can say they were introduced to the world by Vogue?

Shooting for her cover took place in Paris, famed makeup artist Peter Phillips, who is currently the head of Dior’s makeup department, worked on her for the photoshoot.

Earlier in the week, talent and comedian Blouson Chiemi suddenly announced that she will be leaving her agency, Watanabe Entertainment. Blouson never gave a reason as to why she was leaving, simply stating that it was a “private matter”, thanking everyone for the support over the years. Some tabloids allege that the main reason for her departure is contract disputes.

Blouson signed with Watanabe Entertainment 4 years ago, and her contract with them will officially expire on March 31st, 2020. The talent will also officially be going through a name change, from now on she will go by her real name “Shiori Fujiwara“.

Just under a year after the release of his previous longplay, singer/songwriter Yuji Nakada has announced that he will be releasing new record on April 15th. Titled “DOUBLE STANDARD”, this album will be Nakada’s ninth studio effort and is planned to include ten new songs in total.

Ahead of the album’s release date, the music video for its lead track “Umineko” has been uploaded to his YouTube channel. Directed by Tsugumi Matsunaga, the PV centers on a series of shots showing Nakada in isolation on what appears to be an island.

Arashi’s leader Satoshi Ohno will be appearing in a brand new set of CMs promoting Ajinmoto’s line of extra virgin olive oil. In the CMs Satoshi will be playing the role of the beloved American cartoon character Popeye.

The campaign is called “Let’s OLIVE”, and also features Popeye’s girlfriend who is appropriately named Olive Oyl. In the CMs the two showcase the versatility of olive oil, using it to compliment many other dishes such as potatoes salad, chicken wings, and rice balls.

Young singer/songwriter Maica_n recently revealed that she will be making her major debut this spring. She will be signing up with the Victor Entertainment sub-label Colourful Records and releasing her first major EP – titled “Unchained” – on May 20th.

“Unchained” will include five new songs and be issued in two versions, with the Limited Edition to come packaged with a DVD containing both the music video for its lead track “Unchain” and live footage. Another track included on the record, “Flow”, was released this week as a digital single, with an accompanying trailer uploaded to Maica_n’s YouTube channel.
