This week, LiSA topped the Hot 100 single chart for the fourth consecutive week with her single “Homura”, with 30,991 points.

Arashi topped the Hot Albums chart with their new album “This is Arashi.”

LiSA also topped the Streaming Songs chart for the third consecutive week with “Homura.”

LiSA also topped the Download Songs chart for the fourth consecutive week with “Homura.”

ZORN topped the Download Albums chart for the second consecutive week with his album “Shin Koiwa.”

Singer MISIA recently suffered a serious injury while filming for the TBS news show “news23“. In the television show MISIA was participating in a segment highlighting professional athletes with disabilities to help promote the Special Olympics.

While filming MISIA was sitting on top of a horse but by accident the horse became startled by TBS staff, as a result the horse suddenly took off. MISIA fell off the horse directly on her back resulting in spinal damage, specifically her 6th and 7th thoracic vertebrae were fractured. Luckily, she was able to avoid any head injuries since she was wearing a helmet. TBS has issued a formal apology for the incident.

Mannequin girl group FEMM is gearing up for the release of their brand new EP called “404 NOT FOUND“, one of the new tracks from the EP has just received it’s own MV.

For “PEACH” the girls teamed up with British producer Danny L Harle, who has worked with the likes of Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek, and Rina Sawayama. The track also received support from Japanese duo Radical Hardcore Clique. The futuristic MV for “PEACH” has FEMM mannequins RiRi and LuLa dressed as waitresses as they dance and hold a variety of food. Check it out below:

2021 will be a very exciting year for breakout Johnny’s group SixTONES! The group has announced that in January they will be releasing their very first studio album titled “1ST“. It will include their 3 previously released hit singles “Imitation Rain”, “NAVIGATOR”, and “NEW ERA”.

Today TBS (the Tokyo Broadcasting System) has published both this year’s set of winners for the Japan Record Awards as well as the nominees for the Song of the Year and Best New Artist categories.  The Japan Record Awards are a Japanese music awards show akin to what the Grammy’s are in the United States and it can be considered a great honor to be selected for any award on the list below.

Of particular note among this year’s Song of the Year Nominations are Eito’s “Kousui”, LiSA’s “Homura”, Nogizaka46’s “Sekaijuu no Rinjin yo”, Kiyoshi Hikawa’s “Haha”, and DISH//’s “Neko ~THE FIRST TAKE ver.~”. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Album-related awards, along with the Composition, Songwriting (Lyrics), and Arrangement prizes, among others, have not been awarded at this time.

The 62nd Japan Record Awards will air on December 30th, which is when we’ll find out who this year’s Best New Artist will be, as well as which of the song nominations will receive the coveted Grand Prix award. Earlier this year we reported that pop-rock band Mr.Children will be releasing a brand new album titled “SOUNDTRACKS” on December 2nd. While there are still a few weeks before its street date, the band have chosen to publish the music video for the record’s sixth track “Documentary film” to their YouTube channel.

Directed by OSRIN of PERIMETRON – who have also handled all of the visuals for this album – this PV combines two different styles of animation with live action shots in order to convey an affecting story. In particular, the clip focuses on the concept of memory and both its recording and degradation over time.

This week singer/songwriter Yuji Nakada released the physical version of his latest album “PORTAS“. In conjunction with this release, he’s uploaded a PV for the record’s third track “Zero” to his YouTube channel.

This clip was directed by Tsugumi Matsunaga, who also directed Nakada’s PV for “Umineko” earlier this year, and is set in a retro-style coffee shop meant to evoke the Showa period. Shot entirely in one-take, the video focuses on a variety of human interactions, some of which involve the singer himself.
