LDH group E-girls has made a sad announcement on their official website, the group will officially be disbanding on December 31st, 2020. The announcement of the groups disbandment was originally made on December 22nd, 2019.

The group released their 24th single in January 2020 titled “Bessekai“, and a digital single over the summer titled “So many stars”. Their concert tour “E-girls PERFECT LIVE 2011▶2020” began on February 1st, and had to end early on February 22nd due to COVID-19. The tour was originally scheduled to conclude in July.

Hello!Project group Morning Musume ’20 will be getting a new name in just over 30 days, but that isn’t stopping them from releasing a brand new single. The double a-side “Junjou Evidence / Gyuusaretai Dake na no ni” is the groups 69th single overall, and 2nd released under the name Morning Musume ’20.

In usual Hello!Project fashion the single will be available in multiple versions, 3 limited edition and 2 regulars. First press of the regular editions will come with a random trading card, with 30 to collect in total. The DVD will feature alternative versions of the MVs for Junjou Evidence and Gyuusaretai Dake na no ni.

The MV for Gyuusaretai Dake na no ni mainly takes place on an empty change, where the girls perform wearing outfits featuring every different shade of beige! It cuts to close up scenes of the girls posing with giant pieces of cloth, and bound by string.

On November 20th X JAPAN’s leader YOSHIKI released his first photobook in 28 years titled “XY“. Officially described as an “high-art photobook” XY also comes with a DVD housed in a custom cosmetics case, promising to showcase a YOSHIKI like you’ve never seen him before.

XY topped Oricon’s photobook charts with roughly 6k units sold for the week. Photographed by Melanie Pullen, YOSHIKI can be seen wearing various cutting-edge fashion amidst dreamlike settings. Considered a style icon by many, it’s no surprise that played a big role in this photobook.

YOSHIKI was the first man to ever appear on the cover of VOGUE Japan, and he worked with stylist Santa Bevacqua (Vogue, GQ, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar) for the looks featured in the photobook. Johnny’s group King & Prince is back with a brand new single titled “I promise“. This is the groups 6th single overall, and is a romantic pop track perfect for the holiday season.

The MV for “I promise” (dance ver) was uploaded onto YouTube back on November 22nd, however it is blocked from viewing in every single country in the world except for Japan and Taiwan. Luckily the Johnny’s official YouTube channel is here to save the day!

On December 2 and 9, “2020 FNS Kayousai” will air. Over the course of the two nights, acts such as Arashi, Yumi Matsutoya, Tokyo Jihen, LiSA, JO1, Seiko Matsuda, NiziU, and Mr.Children will perform. More guests have been added to the lineup.

On the first night, Ayumi Hamasaki will perform her new song “Ohia no Ki”, while Suda Masaki will make his debut on the show singing his new song “Niji.” BTS will perfom their song “Dynamite”, while their brother group ENHYPEN will make their Japanese music show debut on the show.

FAKY member AKINA has made her solo debut! Her very first solo digital single “Touch” is available on all your favorite streaming services such as Apple Music, AWA, and Spotify beginning on November 27th.

AKINA is half American and Japanese, during her childhood her family lived in different parts around the world exposing her to multiple cultures. In 2015 she made her home japan to debut with FAKY. As a member of FAKY, AKINA was given the opportunity to expand her musical horizons by helping write and compose songs.

In 2019 Tokyo Girls’ Style member Hitomi Arai made her solo debut as an 80’s inspired idol with the single “Delicate ni Sukishite”. Arai has just released her 3rd single ‘Toki ni wa Mukashi no Hanashi wo’, a cover that was originally made famous by the singer Tokiko Kato. Kato’s version was used as the theme song for the hit Studio Ghibli film “Porco Rosso”.
