Oricon has posted a ranking of the top record labels for the first half of 2014 according to their income. This market report summarizes the sales of all music goods sold, including CD singles, CD albums, DVD, and Blu-ray Disc.

Piano rock band SHE’S will release their first mini album ‘WHO IS SHE?

The four-piece band from Osaka is led by front man Ryoma Inoue who contributes his vocals and vivacious piano skills. In 2012, the band was a finalist in the teen Rock Festival Senkou Riot 2012 which was broadcasted on 95 stations nationwide.

Perfume’s latest single, ‘Cling Cling’, promotions

Perfume’s latest single, Cling Cling, was only released last July 16 in Japan. But before its release date, there were already a handful of promotions to publicize the said single.

One was making a lyric video of one of the coupling songs entitled ‘Hold your hand’. They even invited international fans to join the campaign of taking photos of their fans’ hands with the lyrics of the song. The full version of the ‘Hold your hand’ PV is slated to be released this July 21st so better watch out!

E-girls release short PV for ‘Odoru Ponpokorin’

Avex has uploaded a short version of E-girls‘ new song ‘Odoru Ponpokorin.’ This song has served as the opening theme for Fuji TV anime ‘Chibi Maruko-chan’ since May, replacing Kaela Kimura’s rendition.

Original recorded by B.B. Queens in 1990, the song was a hit and landed the number one spot on a list of top 20 anime openings from the 90’s. The song has since been covered by a ton of artists and was even featured on Dance Dance Revolution. This new version features the vocals from E-girls members Ami, Fujii Karen, Washio Reina and Takebe Yuzuna.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Opens at Universal Studios Japan

Tom Felton and Evanna Lynch with SMAP (USJ ambassadors) and Becky (Chairperson, USJ Fan Club) attended the grand opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ at Universal Studios Japan, last July 14.

According to USJ official site, the stars joined the 1,000 Harry Potter fans and incanted the Lumos! spell together, illuminating Hogwarts castle and Hogsmeade village. The spell set off a magnificent display of fireworks, colorful confetti, and thunderous applause from the crowd marking the historic moment of the opening of this 45 billion yen national level project and its economic effect of 5.6 trillion yen over ten years.
