Perfume and other Japanese acts announced for SXSW 2015

SXSW 2015 Music festival is set to be begin March 17  and today announced another 176 names that will take stage during the 5 day period, this time revealing a handful of Japanese acts.

SXSW (South by Southwest) is a set of film, interactive, and music festivals and conferences that takes place in Austin, Texas, United States each year. Beginning in 1987, the festival has continued to grow in both scope and size every year, this year with the total confirmed artist count coming to a whopping 1,140 so far.

The confirmed Japanese acts include Perfume, moumoon, Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re, LITE, The fin., BO-PEEP, mothercoat, QUORUM, Samurai Dynamites, HAIOKA, Pirates Canoe and ZARIGANI $ toitta menmen.

Ticket information is available on the SXSW website, and the badge that will grant you access to the music festival portion is currently priced at $795 USD.

Yun*chi to release anime song cover album

Electronic pop soloist Yun*chi, who recently sang “Wonderful Wonder World*” for anime Log Horizon, will be releasing an anime song cover mini-album on April 15th. Titled Ani*Yun~anime song cover~, the album will consist of seven of Yun*chi’s favorite songs from both classic and new anime series including popular works like Space Dandy and Cardcaptor Sakura. Check out the tracks to be included, as well as Yun*chi’s comment, below the jump!

Yasuda Rei covers Ikimonogakari’s “Renshi” in new music video

Yasuda Rei covers the song “Renshi” of Ikimonogakari. The said is song is used as theme song of the new TBS drama “Utsukushiki Wana ~Zanka Ryouran~” starring Tanaka Rena. “Renshi” was originally released on the band’s 5th album “NEWTRAL”. Due to its fitting lyrics and melody, it was chosen as theme song for the drama. The single is scheduled to be released on February 25.

ONE OK ROCK announces national tour and album “35xxxv” details

To commemorate the release of their new album  “35xxxv” on February 11, ONE OK ROCK announced that they will be holding an arena tour “ONE OK ROCK 2015” 35xxxv “JAPAN TOUR” starting May. This will be the largest nationwide tour for the band, stopping at 11 cities across Japan. The tour will start on May 9- 10 days at Shizuoka Ecopa Arena and end on July 11-12 at the Saitama Super Arena, for a total of 22 performances. For each show, a support act will be featured, to be announced at a later date.

 “35xxxv” (simply pronounced “thirty five”) is the seventh studio album release of the band. The album will contain 13 songs, and will include released songs  “Mighty Long Fall”, “Heartache”, “Decision” and the song “Paper Planes” featuring American rock band Sleeping with Sirens’ Kellin Quinn (Vocal). The limited edition will include a secret track and a DVD “Studio Jam Session Vol.2” containing acoustic sessions from the studio.

BUMP OF CHICKEN releases live music video for “ray feat. HATSUNE MIKU”

As we reported previously, popular rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN will be releasing a new Live DVD / Blu-ray focusing on the Tokyo Dome show that served as the closer for their WILLPOLIS 2014 Tour on February 4th.  Now the band has chosen to publish the footage of their song “ray” from the concert to their Official Youtube channel.

This was a particularly special performance since, unlike the rest of their tour, they played the version of “ray” which features Vocoloid singer Hatsune Miku in a duet with BUMP’s singer Fujiwara Motoo.  The Miku model used during the performance was produced via the use of the Diamond 3D Holographic System, which was developed by Toshi Atsunori of Creative Production A4A.

Acid Black Cherry reveals cover and full track list for his upcoming album “L -Eru-“

We previously reported that rock act Acid Black Cherry (the solo project of Hayashi Yasunori) would be releasing their new concept album “L -Eru-” on February 4th.  Just tonight however, it was confirmed that due to production issues the release of the album will be delayed several weeks until February 25th.

Don’t fret though, as in the interim Yasu has chosen to finally make the full track list for the album public, in addition to the already published covers for the release.  “L -Eru” will be Acid Black Cherry’s fourth full album and will contain a total of fourteen tracks, ten of which are brand new.
