Gesu no Kiwami Otome.’s “Watashi Igai Watashi Janai no” and Nishino Kana’s “Moshimo Unmei no Hito ga Iru no Nara” have both been certified Platinum, meaning they’ve sold 250,000 copies.
MAN WITH A MISSION’s “Seven Deadly Sins”, UNISON SQUARE GARDEN’s “Sugar Song to Bitter Step”, and Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” have all achieved Gold status, meaning they’ve sold 100,000 copies.
Since the digital certifications for January – June are now out, we now have a list of songs from the first half of 2015 which have been certified. They can be seen after the jump along with this month’s list!
On July 29, Passepied will release their new single, “Ura no Ura.” The song serves as the opening theme for the NHK anime series “Kyoukai no RINNE”, starting with episode 14. Episodes 1 – 13 used their song “Toki no Wa” as the closing theme. One of the B-sides on this single, “Spy Tai Spy” is a cover of the PIZZICATO FIVE song of the same name.
Passepied recently released the music video for “Ura no Ura.” In the clip, the band performs the the song in front of a screen displaying various cityscapes. Check it out after the jump!
On July 22, Ziyoou-vachi is set to release their new mini album “Shisshin.” This release will consist of 3 new songs, plus the 2 new versions of “Baishun” that were released digitally in May. The original version of “Baishun” was on “Kirei”, their album from this past March. In the song, the band’s vocalist Avu-chan sang both the male and female parts. For these new versions, Avu-chan sang just one gendered part for each version. Avu-chan’s male vocals were used in the version which features Ai Shinozaki, while Avu-chan’s female vocals were used in the version which features Ryohei Shima of the dresscodes.
Ziyoou-vachi recently released the music video for their new mini album’s opening track, “Thriller.” The music video for the energetic song has a Chinese theme. It also features the band being attacked by vampires. There are connections here between this video and the one for Michael Jackson’s classic of the same name. Anime theme song chanteuse Yun*chi has announced her second studio album. Entitled Pixie Dust*, it is set to be released on September 9th and sports twelve tracks including “Wonderful Wonder World*”, “Fairy*”, and her recent single A-side “Lucky Girl*”. The album comes a year and seven months after her first album Asterisk* and will feature a slew of high-profile producers. Further album details are yet to be announced, but stay tuned.

Ayumi Hamasaki’s new mini album “sixxxxxx” is out August 5. Today, she revealed the full tracklist for this release. In terms of promotion, she’s recently released music videos for “Step by step” and “Summer diary.” Now she’s back with one for “Sayonara.” This song features Taiwanese boyband SpeXial and was produced by dance producer DAISHI DANCE. In this black and white clip, Ayu can be seen sitting on a throne and in bed with various SpeXial members. Check it out after the jump!
Actor Miura Shohei appeared on KTV’s “Kaiketsu Emi Channel” aired last July 17. During the show, Miura shares how Kamenashi Kazuya kept his drunken promise and gave his 700,000 Yen ($5,600) Chrome Hearts jacket to him.
Miura and Kamenashi got along well after starring in Gokusen the Movie. During winter of a certain year, Kamenashi wore his Chrome Hearts jacket which costs “about 700,000 yen at that time.” Miura praised Kame, saying “It is cool”. Kamenashi says he had just bought it and won’t give it to him.
Well-known rock duo Porno Graffitti previously announced that they would be releasing a brand new studio album on August 19th of this year. Now the band has chosen to make all of the details regarding this new release, including its cover and track list, available to the public.
The new album is titled “RHINOCEROS” and will be the first studio release from the duo since “PANORAMA PORNO” hit store shelves back in March of 2012. It will include three of their previously released singles, “Oretachi no Celebration”, “One Woman Show ~Amai Maboroshi~”, and “Oh! Rival”, as well as 11 new songs for a total of 14. Following the album’s release, Porno Graffitti will be embarking on a nation-wide Hall Tour titled “14th Live Circuit ‘The dice are cast'” in order to promote it.
