Utada Hikaru topped the Oricon album chart with her new album “Fantôme”, selling 252,581 copies in its first week.

Utada Hikaru Performs “Manatsu no Tooriame” on NEWS ZERO

Software company president charged for fake AK48, EXILE, Arashi dating profiles

Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested the president of a software company whose dating sites are alleged to have defrauded users with fake profiles of celebrities, including former AKB48 member Atsuko Maeda. Fake profiles for members of boy bands, such as EXILE and Arashi, were also created by the service and used in the same way.

Police have arrested the 38-year-old president of Shinjuku-based Free World on fraud charges after it was found out his dating site management company Wing Net allegedly had employees create fabricated profiles of entertainers under his direction.

At the end of last month, the suspect fled overseas and was apprehended upon his return to Japan.

Akanishi Jin and Yamada Takayuki nonchalantly announce disbandment of JINTAKA

Yesterday, music duo JINTAKA, the unit consisting of Akanishi Jin and Yamada Takayuki, held a release event for their debut single “Choo Choo SHITAIN” at Toyosu PIT where they nonchalantly announced some shocking news: their disbandment.

About 5,000 lucky fans were in attendance for the two events held that day, kicked off with a performance of their debut song “Choo Choo SHITAIN.” During the second half of the event, Akanishi and Yamada hosted a Q&A.

On October 6, idol group Morning Musume. ’16 performed at the Asia Music Network Big Concert in Seoul.

The Asia Music Network fosters a new landscape in the music industry by becoming a place for businesses worldwide to generate success with Asian artists and develop new talent for a sustainable future.

They long-running idol group represented Japan and performed the main song from the latest triple A-side “Utakata Saturday Night!“, as well as a hit song medley of “One Two Three“, “Love Machine“, “Renai Revolution 21“, and “What is LOVE?“.

Arashi releases “Don’t You Get It?” song preview and “Are You Happy?” album details

The tracklist details and covers for Arashi’s upcoming album “Are You Happy?” are out! You can now also listen to a preview of the album’s lead song titled “Don’t You Get It?”. The album is set to be released on October 26.

After the high concepts of Love, Digitalian and Japonism, this time the group starts from the basic universal joy of listening to music and presenting songs that make the listener feel happy. Hence, the fitting album covers. In addition to their solo songs, each of the members were in charge of original Arashi songs using the “Happy” theme.

Tomita Lab Previews His Songs with KOM_I of Suiyoubi no Campanella and Kido Akiko of CICADA

On November 30, Tomita Lab will release his new album, “SUPERFINE.” As with his other albums, “SUPERFINE” features many collaborations. The lineup for this album includes the likes of Maaya Sakamoto, Takagi Shohei of cero, YONCE of Suchmos, Fujiwara Sakura, Avec Avec, and more.

On October 21, two songs from the album will be released digitally as well as on a 7 inch vinyl single, which will be released in a special edition of 500 copies. Those two songs are “Tomita Sakana Ten” featuring KOM_I of Suiyoubi no Campanella and “Kodo” featuring Kido Akiko of CICADA. Previews of the recording of the songs were released today on YouTube, and they can be seen below!
