Utada Hikaru Announces Her Promotional Activities for “Fantôme”

On September 28, Utada Hikaru will release her comeback album, “Fantôme.” Since her re-entry into the music scene earlier this year with “Hanataba wo Kimi ni” and “Manatsu no Tooriame”, promotional activities have been virtually non-existent, with some thinking that she wouldn’t do any promo for “Fantôme” at all. However, that will not be the case! Today, Utada announced that she will in fact be promoting her new album.

Her first television appearance since ending her hiatus will take place on September 22 on a special episode of SONGS. This will be her first appearance on TV since the documentary “Utada Hikaru ~Ima no Watashi~” aired on NHK in January 2011. On SONGS, Utada will perform “Michi”, “Hanataba wo Kimi ni”, and “Tomodachi.” In addition to the perfomances, she’ll be interviewed by Itoi Shigesato. Inoue Yosui will also appear on the show, which will be narrated by Takahata Mitsuki.

The day before the release of “Fantôme”, the new issue of Pia MUSIC COMPLEX will be released, featuring Utada on the cover.

The magazine will feature an interview with her, conducted by Noda Yojiro of RADWIMPS. Starting today until next Sunday, the magazine is taking messages from fans to Utada, some of which will be published in the magazine.

On September 30, Utada will appear on Love music, in a special episode titled “Love music Tokubetsu hen (Special Edition) Utada Hikaru ~Liner Notes~.”

On the show, Utada will watch videos in which Nagasawa Masami, Hanaregumi, Suiyoubi no Campanella’s Koumai, and Chris Pepper ask her questions. She will then reply to each of them.

In early October, Utada will appear on “NEWS ZERO” to sing the show’s theme song, “Manatsu no Tooriame.”

Arama! Japan will post all of these performances posted the day that they air!
