Girl group Perfume have announced the release of their 30th single Mugen Mirai.
The title track will serve as the main theme song for the film Chihayafuru Part 3 starring Suzu Hirose, Shuhei Nomura, and Mackenyu Arata. The b-side FUSION was originally released last year in November, the song was used to promote a collaboration with docomo titled FUTURE-EXPERIMENT VOL.01.
Mugen Mirai will be released in three versions. A limited edition CD+DVD housed in a slipcase, a standard CD only, and a special “Chihayafuru” CD+DVD. Both DVDs come with the full MV, along with different “Perfume views”. An external bonus, most likely a poster, is set to be announced at select retailers while supplies last.

EXILE has returned to the music scene with a brand new lyric video for their song PARTY ALL NIGHT ~STAR OF WISH~.
This is their first release since the 2016 single Joy-ride ~Kanki no Drive~. Following the release of that single a best album was released a few months later and the group took a short break. Other members focused on personal projects, took time to recuperate, or have activities with EXILE’s brother groups EXILE THE SECOND and Sandaime J Soul Brothers.
EXILE will be resuming activities in a big way by introducing “EXILE FRIDAY”. The group will release a brand new song on the first Friday of every month, it is currently shceduled to happen six months in a row beginning with February. The videos that accompany each song were produced by the members themselves.
AKIRA & SHOKICHI took charge for the first video which showcases the various EXILE members enjoying a party. It also features ATUSHI having fun in New York where he celebrated New Years. Watch the MV below!
go!go!vanillas have released the MV for their brand new song “stand by me“.
The track is described as a refreshing pop tune, and features Czecho No Republic member Yagi Rui who participated in the song by playing the piano. The MV was created in collaboration with the mineral water “Suntory Minami-Alps Tennensui & Yogurina”.
All throughout the MV the members find themselves in various wacky situations. They’re residents of the fictional “Yogurina star”, and keep creating various inventions to try and get frontman Maki Takuya out of bed. “stand by me” is currently a stand alone song, it is currently unknown if it will be released as a single in the near future.
Meanwhile, the boys have also announced that they will be appearing at the festivals “JAPAN JAM 2018” and “Hyakumanba Music Festival 2018 ~ Million Rock Festival ~”. Watch the full MV for “stand by me” below.
Morning Musume. ’18 is back with yet another digital release after releasing their first one Gosenfu no Tasuki back on November 30th, 2017 (which is also the same day Morning Musume reached their 50,000 sales goal for Ai no Tane in 1997)!
Since Hello! Project has taken up a new concept on releasing more digital music for their fans, Hana ga Saku Taiyou Abite was released on January 28th, 2018. The song is said to be centered by 10th generation member, Masaki Sato. Lyrics and composition are done by Tsunku and arrangement is done by Hirata Shoichiroi.
A few months ago it seemed that netizens overall attitude changed a little for talent Nozomi Tsuji. That quickly soured as the mother of three dominated headlines after taking her family on a trip to a farm.
Located in a city called Futtsu in the Chiba Prefecture, the farm that Tsuji’s family visited is quite renowned for their delicious and vast strawberry fields. After spending some time picking strawberries the family participated in activities found at your typical farm such as feeding/petting some of the animals and helping milk a cow.
Afterwards while uploading the days activities to her official blog and Instagram account, one comment in particular took netizens over the edge. Tsuji mentioned on how she loves to eat freshly picked strawberries with condensed milk.
Get ready FMA fans! The Fullmetal Alchemist live action film that was released in December 2017 is coming very soon to Netflix. The film is included in the list of incoming titles for February and is listed as a “Netfilix Original”. The Fumihiko Sori-directed adaptation officially hits the streaming service on February 19!
It was previously announced that the film will open in over 190 countries but did not specify further details. Now we get information on the film’s exclusive distribution through Netflix, to be released just a few months after it opened in Japan.
The film first held its overseas premiere in the US at Anime NYC on November 19.
On January 31, Nishikido Ryo attended a press conference for his new movie “Hitsuji no Ki” directed by Yoshida Daihachi, to talk about well, the movie. The presscon was hosted by The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan (FCCJ) and appropriately, Nishikido gave greetings in fluent English.
The bigger news though is that Johnnys & Associates is lifting some restrictions on the use of images of its talent on online media. Prior to this, Johnnys have restricted the use of their talents’ images and limited it to newspapers and magazines. For purposes of press conferences, interviews and stage greetings, images of Johnnys can now be used for online news sites.
Pictures from Nishikido’s latest press conference is the first to be lifted for online news media. Several news sites and related twitter accounts have started uploading images since the lifting of the ban. As such, have some HD Ryo-face below.
Sandaime J Soul Brothers’ Iwata Takanori will be starring in NTV’s new drama “Gakeppuchi Hotel!” starting April (10:30pm, Sundays). This will be his first lead role in a drama series.
Story for the drama series will take place at a hotel that is long past its glory days and nears bankruptcy. Iwata is joined by Toda Erika who plays Sana Sakurai, the hotel manager who struggles to revive the hotel. The hotel’s fortune changes when Ukai Naoya played (Iwata) arrives as a guest at the hotel.
