This year popular rock band Southern All Stars will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary since their debut in the music industry. In order to commemorate the occasion, the group have announced that they will be releasing a special compilation album on August 1st.
Titled “Umi no Oh, Yeah!!”, this ‘premium’ release is meant to be the direct sequel to the band’s previous best album “Umi no Yeah!!”, which has sold more than 3.5 million copies to date. This compilation will include songs from the 20 years following that album’s release, such as “I AM YOUR SINGER”, “Tokyo VICTORY”, and their smash hit “TSUNAMI”, as well as three brand new tracks. The record’s Limited Edition will also include the jingle from the group’s 2017 collaboration with Mitsuya Cider as a bonus track.

Last month we reported that rock band SUPER BEAVER would be releasing a brand new studio album titled “Kansei Zenya” on June 27th. Now, in further the support of this release, the group have published the music video for the record’s third track “Senkou” to their Youtube channel.
The video features SUPER BEAVER performing the upbeat track beneath a monochrome filter, with a striking black-and-white set at their backs. This PV was directed by Gen Natsume, who has also worked on the videos for the band’s songs “Seikouhou” and “Utsukushii Hi” in the past.

Up-and-coming rock band Halo at Yojohan have announced that they will be making their major label debut. The group will be signing with Nippon Columbia’s TRIAD label and intend to release their first full-length album this Fall to commemorate the occasion.
In addition, the band will be embarking on a one-man tour starting in December, with the live set to take them to nine venues around Japan. Further details about the album, including which of the group’s previously released songs will be included, will be revealed as its release date draws closer.

It was announced that Hey! Say! JUMP’s Okamoto Keito will be studying abroad in the U.S. by September. He will be back to Hey! Say! JUMP after finishing his studies. The announcement was made by the group via a recorded video message for fanclub members at the official site at 10pm, Saturday.
In the video comment, Okamoto said he decided to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York). In regards to his return, he says “I will study hard in order to show everyone my growth. I will definitely return to Hey! Say! JUMP”. Since he will be returning to the group, the members accepted his decision to study abroad. Yabu Kota says “I hope everyone will be waiting together with us for Keito.”
The group announced the other day a new single titled “COSMIC ☆ HUMAN” to be released on August 1. The single promotions will be performed by 9 members. This will include the announced live performance relay from Hong Kong for MUSIC DAY on July 7. This year’s concert tour, which is still not officially announced, will be performed by 8 members.
2 hours prior to the announcement, an email notification was sent to FC members that an announcement will be made at 10pm. Following the tabloid rumor that Okamoto is leaving, the notice naturally made a lot of fans anxious. Few months ago, it was revealed that Okamoto dropped out of Sophia University.

Watch Kimura Takuya as he sashays his way in the PR video “Are You Ready?” for department store Sogo Seibu. The video will be up online starting on the 22nd and will broadcast on outdoor TV monitors. It aims to expand brand awareness among Asian visitors especially Chinese tourists. In mid July, the PR video will also broadcast in Sogo Hongkong and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, among others.
Shooting was carried out in popular tourist spot Shibuya scramble and in Seibu Shibuya branch. In the video, Kimura dances with 80 employees of the company. The CM starts with a busy shot of Shibuya scramble and 30 minutes prior to the store’s opening, Kimura vibrantly walks around asking “Are you ready?”, to which the employees responds with “OK”. The building was converted into a huge dance floor as everyone gets busy. Near the store’s opening time, tension rises up with the final shout of Kimura’s “Are you ready?”. At 10 am, the doors open with everyone making a welcome greeting to customers.
