Popular rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN revealed last night that they will be releasing a new Live DVD/Blu-ray on August 8th. This release will center around footage from the Saitama Super Arena show of the quartet’s recent “TOUR 2017-2018 PATHFINDER”, including the titular opening instrumental and the acoustic performance of the yet-to-be-released “Spica” which follows the final encore. Bonus footage, a Live CD, and a 120-page photo booklet will be included with the DVD/Blu-ray’s Limited Edition.
Additionally, the band have also announced that their new song “Bouen no March” will be used as the CM track for the upcoming campaign to promote the smartphone game “Yo-kai Watch World”. Described as a refreshing song with a palpable sense of momentum, a nearly 3-minute snippet of “Bouen no March” can be heard in a special promotional video for the game which features actor Kentaro Sakaguchi. The actual commercial will begin airing in Japan in July.

Alternative rockers Quruli recently announced that they will be releasing a new studio album on September 19th. Titled “Song Line”, this will be the group’s first full-length release since 2014’s “THE PIER” and will include their previously released singles “How Can I Do?”, “Tokubetsu na Hi”, “Sono Sen wa Suiheisen”, “Haru wo Matsu”, “Daiji na Koto”, and “Wasurenai You ni”, as well as six new songs for a total of 12.
In addition, to support its release as part of a cassette tape single out this week, the trio have uploaded the music video for “Wasurenai You ni” to their Youtube channel. This PV was directed by Kaoru Endo and features behind-the-scenes footage from the recording of “Song Line”.

June 27 marks the release of “BLUE”, the newest single from NEWS. The song is currently used as the theme song for NTV’s coverage of ‘FIFA World Cup’. Member Tegoshi Yuya serves as NTV’s main caster for the event. With its powerful and uplifting chorus, this spirited fight song makes for a fantastic support song for Japan’s Samurai Blue team. It was also announced that member Koyama Keiichiro will be resuming his entertainment activities on June 27. However, his return as a newscaster will remain on hold for the foreseeable future. His activities were suspended after reports surfaced that he encouraged an underage girl to drink at a party. Koyama apologized for the incident earlier on at “news every” and explained that he was explicitly told the girl is 20 (legal age). Regardless, he apologized for allowing the incident to take place. Details regarding Perfume’s new studio album have finally been revealed!
“Future Pop” is the groups 7th album overall and will be released on August 15th, 2018. The album will contain 12 songs in total and come in 4 different versions. Some of the new songs that will be included on the album are “Tiny Baby”, “Start-up”, and the title track “Future Pop”.
On June 28, CDTV will air its mid-year special, “CDTV ’18 Jo Hanki SP Entame Matome Sou Kessan.” The show will start at 8 PM JST and end at 11:07 PM JST. The show will be hosted by Azumi Shinichiro, with a panel consisting of Yasei Bakudan’s Cookie, Mitz Mangrove, and Mori Masako.
The show will features of a number of topics being discussed. Utada Hikaru and B’z both celebrating major anniversary is one topic, as is the rise of Yonezu Kenshi, King & Prince, and Keyakizaka46. There will also be a segment dedicated to the rising foreign acts TWICE and Bodan Shonen Dan. Other topics will include Namie Amuro’s final tour, Oginome Yoko’s “Dancing Hero (Eat You Up)”, and the return of Eurobeat, courtesy of the DA PUMP.

Rapper SKY-HI has dropped his brand new MV for “Snatchaway“.
“Snatchaway” is SKY-HI’s 11th single overall, it’s a double a-side single paired with the song “Driver’s High”. The MV for “Driver’s High” was released back in April of this year.
Today marks the release of Utada Hikaru’s highly anticipated 7th Japanese studio album “Hatsukoi“!
This is her very first studio album since transferring labels to Epic Records Japan, a sub-label of Sony Music. “Hatsukoi” is one of the many releases to celebrate Utada’s 20 years in the entertainment industry.
A Japanese tour has been announced to promote the album and further celebrate her anniversary.
