Over the past few days, we’ve been looking back on the year end charts for the years that were covered in the 2019 editions of Oricon Flashback. We end with 2014.
For those who have been watching Japan’s various year end music shows, chances are you caught a performance from LDH group Sandaime J SOUL BROTHERS. At many of the year end shows including FNS Kayosai, and CDTV’s Special Live, the group performed their song “Rat-tat-tat“.
Released back on September 19th, 2019 this was the very first digital single for J SOUL BROTHERS. It was used as the CM song for Universal Japan’s “ZOMBIE de DANCE HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS”, which starred J SOUL BROTHERS member NAOTO.
Quickly becoming a fan favorite, when performed at concerts and music shows audience participation is greatly encouraged. To capitalize on the attention the song has received, a special “Dance Lecture Movie” was released on the groups official YouTube account.

Some shocking, yet happy, news from Ayumi Hamasaki today: she is now a mom! She announced the news on her Team Ayu fanclub site.
She started off the post by wishing her fans Happy New Year, and thanking them for their support at her New Year’s Eve concert at Yoyogi National Gymnasium. Their support has encouraged her as she prepares to start her 2020 tour.

Yamashita Tomohisa and Kamenashi Kazuya to hold concert tour for “Shuji to Akira’s” 15th anniversary
During the annual Johnnys Countdown held at the Tokyo Dome, it was announced that ultimate Johnnys duo, Yamashita Tomohisa and Kamenashi Kazuya will be holding a concert tour together to commemorate the 15th anniversary of their unit “Shuji to Akira”.
Kamenashi says they’ll be doing various projects for the anniversary while Yamashita announced the tour. It was broadcast on Fuji TV but during the commercial break, Kamenashi added that the tour was announced first and there’ll be other things that will be gradually announced.
The two teamed up as a unit “Shuji to Akira” for the 2005 drama “Nobuta wo Produce” and released the million selling single “Seishun Amigo”. In 2017, they teamed up again as “Kame to Yamapi” for the drama “I’m Your Destiny”, releasing the single “Senaka Goshi no Chance”.
Sexy Zone’s Nakajima Kento and King & Prince Hirano Sho announced on January 1, 2020 that they will be launching a new project.
A twitter account @kentosho2020 was opened along with a two-shot of Nakajima and Hirano when the clock turned to the new year with the message “Our big challenge begins in 2020!”. No further details are announced so fans are left wondering. Will they star in a drama or movie together? Is this the new Reiwa unit from Johnnys? Will they release music as a duo? We’ll find that out soon.
