Arama! Japan has previously reported on some of Koki’s dubious activities. Readers wondered what her father, Takuya Kimura, thought of her much debated photoshoot for Elle Japan magazine. Shukan Bunshun has revealed what his thoughts are.

While social media was afire over the Elle Japan photo shoot and Koki’s family’s support of it, apparently Takuya himself privately had major concerns. While Koki’s mother, Shizuka Kudo, was publicly supporting the photoshoot, which their other daughter, Cocomi, shot, in private Takuya seemed disturbed, only responding curtly when spoken to about the magazine incident.

“Obviously he knew that they were going to do something like this, but when faced with the actual photos himself he seemed taken aback by what he saw. Even when congratulated about the photos he would only respond curtly with statements like “thanks” and in an unusually displeased manner. Takuya isn’t even that enthusiastic about his daughter’s entertainment pursuits – he’s of the mindset that if she really wants to, he really can’t stand in her way.” (TV entertainment industry insider)

And apparently, there’s a reason for this.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER topped the Hot Albums chart with their debut Japanese album “STILL DREAMING.”

YOASOBI topped the Artist 100 chart for the second consecutive week.

Ayase topped the Hot 100 Lyricists chart for the fifth consecutive week.

Ayase also topped the Hot 100 Composers chart for the fifth consecutive week.

Yuri topped the Streaming Songs chart with his digital single “Dry Flower.”

Ado topped the Download Songs chart with her digital single “Usseewa.”

YOASOBI also topped the Download Albums chart for the third consecutive week with their EP “THE BOOK.”

Fujii Kaze debuted in November 2019 with his digital single “Nan Nan.” His debut album, “HELP EVER HURT NEVER”, debuted at #1 on Billboard Japan’s Hot Albums chart the following May, solidifying his position as one of Japan’s most promising new artists.

Nippon.com’s Kurihara Yuichiro spoke to prominent Japanese R&B producer Matsuo Kiyoshi about Kaze’s rise to fame. Kiyoshi says that Kaze’s music is fresh, yet familiar, reminding him of how stars used to burst onto the scene in the 80s and 90s. The artist that he most likens Kaze to is Utada Hikaru.

On January 30, Sankei Sports reported that Atsuko Maeda and Ryo Katsuji are currently in talks for a divorce. Both have lawyered up, beginning divorce talks as speedily as they were married only after four months of dating. On March 8, SPACE SHOWER will hold this year’s edition of its annual awards show, “SPACE SHOWER MUSIC AWARDS 2021.” The awards honor artists who have made a contribution to music in 2020 in the eyes of SPACE SHOWER TV. The show will be hosted by Ito Seiko, Hama Okamoto (OKAMOTO’S), and emma.

There are eight categories, plus PEOPLE’S CHOICE, that are now open to public voting. Voting for these awards ends on February 28.

There will be more awards, which aren’t open for public voting, given away at the awards show.

“PRODUCE 101 JAPAN” is back for season two! Like season one, this season is also looking for a new boyband. Ninety-nine return at the show’s hosts, with Thelma Aoyama, KEN THE 390, Sugai Hidenori, DA PUMP KENZO, and Nakasone Rino serving as trainers. As with season one, “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON2” will be shown on GYAO!

“PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON2” has revealed its 101 trainees! In reality, it’s 100, since one of the trainees has already left the show before it even started! Soon, the amount of trainees will be cut to 60. From February 1 – 10, there will be an online vote to see which 60 trainees make it to the next round. To help voters make their decision, various trainee videos have been uploaded on GYAO! Since GYAO! is a region-blocked site, the videos have started to be uploaded on YouTube as well. Only those with a Yahoo! JAPAN ID will be able to vote.
