The latest episode of Fuji TV’s ‘Bokura no Ongaku‘ was all about ‘GiRLPOP‘! There was a focus on late 80’s and 90’s female soloists like Makoto Kawamoto, Yumi Tanimura, and Chisato Moritaka performing their old hits. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu was also invited to bring her youth and high energy dance performance to the stage. All these ladies brought it!

Announced Friday, Ikuta Toma will be starring in a movie adaptation of Isaka Kotaro’s popular 2004 novel Grasshopper. After playing a cold-hearted murderer in the hugely successful 2013 movie The Brain Man, Ikuta and director Takimoto Tomoyuki will once again be working together.
Ikuta’s co-stars include internationally-recognized actor Asano Tadanobu and Yamada Ryosuke of the male idol group Hey! Say! JUMP.
Ikuta will play Suzuki, a man who leaves his job as a schoolteacher in order to infiltrate an underworld organization and take revenge on the person who murdered his girlfriend. Suzuki will meet different assassins, Cicada and Whale, and the story will show how their lives will interlace. Asano will play Kujira (lit. “whale”), a contract killer who specializes in observing his targets, gaining insight into their state of mind and eventually manipulating them into committing suicide. Yamada’s character Semi (lit. “cicada”) is a fellow hitman who takes a more direct approach, utilizing his expertise with knives.
It has been announced on their official website that the music project spoon+, headed by its YUKI-inspired vocalist and creator aco (formerly of electro-pop unit amU), will be releasing their third album “eat” on Friday, July 25th. Cover art, tracklist, and a video of spoon+ performing a song from the album can be found below!
A thread on popular message board Girls Channel recently amassed tons of attention. The topic? The controversial question of which male celebrity has the perfect face. It was decided that androp’s upcoming single ‘Shout’ has been chosen as the theme song of TBS drama ‘Kazoku Gari’. Coupled with rhythmic ‘Run’ and ‘Alternative Summer’, the single will be released on August 13th in regular and limited editions. The first press comes with two pin badges.
Natalie.mu also reported that androp will release live DVD/Blu-ray ‘One-man Live 2014 at Yoyogi National Stadium ・ The First Gymnaisum’ from one of their concerts last March. The concert footage was shot with 37 cameras and gets all the best angles of the four-member group.
The full lineup and schedule for ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2014 has been announced! This year’s ROCK IN JAPAN will commemorate their 15th anniversary. To celebrate, they will have 4 shows for the first time. It will take place on August 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th at the Hitachi Seaside Park. Each day of the event will be aired live on WOWOW from 3PM~8:30PM.
Another change is related to their DJ BOOTH. It has been remade into a new stage named the BUZZ STAGE. This stage will have a BUZZ SPECIAL act on the 3rd, 9th and 10th. Furthermore, the GRASS STAGE on the 9th will have a still unannounced (surprise) guest that is described as a “great rock artist”. Look forward to the reveal!
The lineup is packed with many great artists from various genres to look forward to such as SCANDAL, ONE OK ROCK, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, RIP SLYME, Kimura Kaela, 9nine, Nothing’s Carved In Stone and many more! KICK THE CAN CREW will also be performing under their group name after 11 years.

As the final part to our celebrity relationship list of 2014, we’re going to look at the ones who just did not go well. Yes, the disastrous relationship of 2014. These includes divorces, cheating and affairs as well as break-ups. It’s interesting to see who didn’t last this year and who wasn’t faithful. For example Toono Nagiko just bested Kim Kardashian by divorcing her husband 55 days after they got married. Likewise, what a shocker for comedian and talent, Hamada Britney for her fiance to come out to her.
