KIRIMI-chan has quickly risen through the ranks of the music industry, previously releasing the indie single ‘KIRIMI no Uta ~ Oishiku Tabete ne ♡~‘ and proving KIRIMI-chan as a serious artist. After various international love calls and offers of exclusive record contracts, it was decided that KIRIMI-chan will debut under UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN this September with ‘Magical KIRIMI!‘
C-ute’s official youtube channel has recently uploaded the PV for Kanashiki Heaven (single ver). Kanashiki Heaven is a very familiar sight to C-ute fans.
The song was originally included on their 19th single Aitai Aitai Aitai na as a b-side, a duet sung by members Airi Suzuki and Chisato Okai. The music video for the song was filmed shortly after the single release and was included on C-ute’s 2nd best album ②℃-ute神聖なるベストアルバム. Not done yet! The song was featured on yet another release, this time on C-ute’s 21st single Crazy Kanzen na Otona. For this release three different versions were included on the single. One with only Airi’s vocals, one with only Chisato’s vocals and then an instrumental.
When commenting about the single Tsunku claimed he wanted the song to have a proper place in C-ute’s discography. Even though fans already know of the song he wants more of the general public to be exposed to it. Shouldn’t this have happened earlier? Kanashiki Heaven is almost two years old. Last month it was announced that a new film starring Kyary Pamyu Pamyu based on her TV program will be released to 70 Aeon theaters nationwide on June 12th.
The upcoming film ‘Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Cinema JOHN‘ was shot with a small crew in Japan, Germany and France in April of this year. It reshoots popular scenes from her show ‘Kyary Pamyu Pamyu TV JOHN!’ and arranges it into a crazy storyline that you would expect from the Harajuku singer. Kyary herself describes it as “a fantasy film with a good message and ASOBI (her management) sensibilities.” Her show has been broadcast on MeTV since 2011 so she definitely has tons of source material to work with.
Jin Akanishi has officially released a 30 second teaser for his new song “Good Time“. The upbeat single releases on August 6th and its video features some familiar faces to fans of Akanishi. Ironically, Good Time sounds more like a Johnnys song than anything he put out under their management and label. Watch it below, and take a look at the Good Time single covers.
In preparation for management agency Amuse‘s outdoor event Amuse Fes 2014 BBQ in Tsumagoi ~Bokura no Beat wo Kurae Kora!~ taking place July 19th, Ayaka “A~chan” Nishiwaki of Perfume has been revealed to have written an original song with the rock duo Porno Graffiti. The song’s composition comes courtesy of Akihito Okano (Porno Graffiti), while the lyrics were written by A~chan (Perfume) and Haruichi Shindo (Porno Graffiti), completed over several rounds of direct communication between the two. It will premiere on stage the day of the festival, and this live recording will receive a digital-only release. Proceeds will be donated to relief efforts towards the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, a cause that Porno Graffiti has been supporting through charity goods and fundraising for the past three years.
While she has often talked about her desire to write lyrics and even asked Perfume producer Yasutaka Nakata (CAPSULE) for the opportunity in the past, this marks A~chan’s first time challenging the songwriting process. Expressing their desire to make this collaboration “not a Porno Graffiti song, but a song for everyone at Tsumagoi,” the band singled A~chan out to bring the lyrics to life.
Nihon Monitor has revealed the ranking for the number of CM contracts for the first half of 2014. In last year’s list, pro golfer Ishikawa Ryo and actress Takei Emi topped the male and female celebrity ranking, respectively.
