S/mileage Releases Two New Pvs!

S/mileage‘s official youtube channel has uploaded the videos for their latest double a-side single Aa Susukino/Chikyuu wa Kyou mo Ai wo Hagukumu. With this single s/mileage continues to head into a more mature direction.  Dawa and Rina’s spoken dialogue in Aa Suskino is sure to leave an impact!

The single will be released August 20th in six versions. The regular editions contain one trading card (seven types, six solo and one group) and the limited editions include a lottery serial card, which can be used for upcoming events promoting the single. A special boxset will also be released including all six editions.

Plenty welcomes new drummer Itta Nakamura

Seasoned drummer Itta Nakamura will make his first appearance as a member of rock band plenty starting August 5th at Kichijoji WARP. The band, formed in 2004, has been without a drummer since Hiroki Yoshioka left the group back in 2011.

Nakamura was previously part of the math rock band The cabs until it suddenly disbanded in 2013 after guitarist and vocalist Takahashi Kunimitsu disappeared and was unable to be contacted.

Coinciding this announcement, the band has uploaded a video clip for ‘Tegami‘ (‘Letter’) to their official YouTube channel featuring Nakamura.

Popteen announces winners for model Grand Prix

Following a reader voting period online, the final round of fashion magazine Popteen’s Grand Prix model audition was held at this year’s ‘Gokiken! Popteen Natsu no Shingeki Matsuri 2014‘ yesterday at Zepp Tokyo.

Chosen out of 3,026 contestants across the country, third year junior high student Kitazawa Mayu came in first for the women’s division. Given a tiara and royal cape she shared her excitement, “I didn’t think there was a way I could have possibly won. I’m really glad.”

For the men’s division, 18 year-old Matsuhisa Kaede came in first. “Word can’t express my happiness” he stated. “Along with modeling, I have an interest in trying out acting as well.”

Yuko Oshima turns into a cat for ‘Shironeko Project’

A television commercial for Colopl’s latest “one-finger RPG” ‘Shironeko Project‘ starring Former AKB48 member Yuko Oshima has begun airing in various prefectures throughout Japan as of August 2nd.

In this 3D action adventure game, you work together with up to 4 friends in multiplayer modeto clear missions. Released on July 14 for Android, it quickly shot up the most downloaded charts in Japan.

SOL (Taeyang) Releases Two Japanese MVs

Korean singer Taeyang, or Sol as he is known in Japan, has released two short music videos which are Japanese versions of his hit songs “Ringa Linga” and “1AM.” Check out the videos below!
