It was revealed MIYAVI’s new single ‘Real?‘ will be released on September 10th.
The title track is produced by Grammy Award winning production duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, known for their work with Janet Jackson and Boyz II Men. The coupling track ‘Set It On Fire‘ is an intense heavy rock song produced Jeff Blue, previously making hit singles for Linkin Park and Hoobastank.
Earlier in July, it was announced that Sakisaka Io’s popular shoujo manga Strobe Edge will be getting a live-action film adaptation. Soon after, casting rumors has surfaced. It was confirmed today that Fukushi Sota and Arimura Kasumi are cast as leads for the movie. Fukushi will play the story’s cool school idol, while Arimura cut her hair by 20 centimeters (about 8 inches) into a bob to play the heroine.
Both got their huge break by appearing in the drama ‘Amachan’. This is their fourth time working together having also worked previously in dramas ‘Starman’ and ‘Yowakutemo Katemasu’, but this is the first time they will appear together in a movie.
Today, singer-songwriter YUKI unveiled more details on her forthcoming seventh studio album “FLY.” She also released the short pv for her forthcoming single “Daredemo Lonely”, out August 20.
“FLY”, out September 17, will be released in 3 editions: CD only, CD+DVD, and analog. The album will feature 16 songs, including the singles “Sakamichi no Melody” (with a different mix for the album), “Watashi no Negaigoto”, “STARMANN”, and “Daredemo Lonely.” One of the album’s tracks will feature the rap duo KAKATO, composed of Tamaki ROY and Chinza DOPENESS. Hitomitoi is set to release her new digital single “Natsu Kosen, Kira.” on August 13. The release will be limited to iTunes only. This will be the singer’s second digital release so far this summer, after the release of Glass no Summer Holiday on July 9. The song was produced by Cunimondo Takiguchi, who she has worked with in the past. Check out a clip of the song after the jump!

In a new video from the collaboration between AKB48 and Japan’s largest portal for part time work Baitoru, AKB48 members are at a press conference claiming they are missing a member and are looking to fill that void. No experience required!
For this application process starting today until September 10th, management is looking for female fans middle school-aged and up interested in working as an AKB48 member part time. Those who accept the offer must agree to shoot a CM and appear as a Baitoru (Dip Inc.) image character. Throughout the duration, all food and transportation will be provided and costumes will be lent out.

The trailer, along with some stills, for the Chinese movie ‘Five Minutes to Tomorrow’ has been released. Miura Haruma is co-starring with Chinese actress Cecilia Liu (Liu Shi Shi) and Taiwanese actor Joseph Chang in a Mandarin language film but directed by Japanese director Isao Yukisada and adapted from the novel of writer Honda Takayoshi.
To prepare for the role, Miura has been learning Mandarin since April of last year. Miura plays a clockmaker who fell in love with a young woman who happens to have an identical twin sister. Cecilia Liu will challenge double roles as she plays the twin female leads. Miura’s character is confronted with mystery, as one of the twin sisters died in an accident, and the other one returns to him.. is it Maggie, the first twin who fell in love with him or is it the other twin named Michelle?

Japanese music festival WORLD HAPPINESS 2014 was held today and was attended by American rock singer Courtney Love.
Courtney Love has always shown an interest in Japan, from her days erotic dancing there in her youth, to performing to sold out shows at Japanese rock festivals with her band Hole, to even co-creating a manga called ‘Princess Ai’.
