On the Oricon physical charts for the week of 8/18 to 8/24, pop-rock band DREAMS COME TRUE come in first for the album chart, pushing over 90,000 albums with their latest album ‘ATTACK25’. EXILE TRIBE tops the single charts with new song ‘THE REVOLUTION’ with 321,879 sales.

For the past week, Hiroshima prefecture has been struggling with a series of landslides beginning on August 20th following a torrential downpour. The Japan Times reported today that the death toll has risen to 66 with 21 still missing. Several prominent Japanese celebrities born and raised in the region have spoken out on their feelings to spread the word in the wake of the disaster.
Trailer is up for the movie ‘Clover’ starring Emi Takei and Kanjani8’s Tadayoshi Ohkura. The movie opens November 1. It is based from Toriko Chiya’s manga which tells the story of Saya Suzuki, an office lady who can’t forget her first love and works each day getting reprimanded by her accomplished Do-S supervisor, Susumu Tsuge.
As can be previewed from the trailer, Kanjani8 will provide the theme song ‘CloveR’, an up-tempo band song with lyrics describing the relationship between Saya and Susumu. JUJU will also provide ‘Someday My Prince Will Come’ and cover ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ as insert songs for the movie.
Kou Shibasaki’s new single Aoi Hioshi is released this Wednesday, August 27 and the full PV for the song has been released. This serves as her debut single under Victor Entertainment after switching labels. The song is also currently used as theme song for TV Tokyo drama ‘Aoi Honoo’.

Actress Kii Kitano (23) will serve as a new host for NTV’s news program “ZIP!” (Mondays through Fridays from 5:50 am). Mari Sekine (29), who has been a host since the show first broadcast in April 2011 and announced her marriage to Korean singer K the other day, will pass on her hosting role to Kitano during her graduation on September 29th.
Yukiko Kinoshita (20) and Tomoko Kato (27) announced their graduation from the popular idol group SKE48 at the Team K II theatre performance in Nagoya on the 25th of August.
The 3rd generation member Yukiko Kinoshita has appeared in 5 SKE48 main singles and ranked at number 40 in this year’s AKB48 general election. Before she joined SKE48 at 15, she attended a dance school and commented brightly towards her graduation “when I leave the group I want to once again become extremely good at dance and take lots of auditions!”
Today, Gesu no Kiwami Otome. released the music video for the second A-side on their recent double A-side single “Ryokiteki na Kiss wo Watashi ni Shite / Asobi.” “Asobi” serves as the CM song for LG’s isai FL smartphone ad campaign. The smartphone, which can shoot video in 4K, was actually used to film the music video for “Asobi.” The band also released a behind the scenes clip of the making of the video.
