New Gundam Series announced

Just recently on the Bandai livestream, a new Gundam series has been announced.  It is titled “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans” (Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans) and will air in the fall season of this year (10/4/15)

DREAM BOYS Release Free Remix EP

DREAM BOYS is a hip hop supergroup composed of the roster of rappers on Dream Boy Music: KEN THE 390, KLOOZ, YURIKA, and KOPERU. Back in June 2013, the group released their debut album, “5Days at the GameCenter.” They have now released a remix EP for that album, “5Days at the GameCenter (Earl O. MASHUP).” Earl O. has selected 7 tracks off the album to give the remix treatment to. Listeners have the option of either downloading it for free or streaming it for free.

DREAM BOYS recently released remixed videos for 2 of the new remixes: “DREAM BOY ANTHEM” and “Crazy.” They can been seen after the jump! There you will also find the cover and tracklist for this release, as well as the download / streaming links!

SEKAI NO OWARI take us to dinner in Music Video for “ANTI-HERO”

Very popular band SEKAI NO OWARI have just published the PV for their upcoming single “ANTI-HERO” to their official Youtube channel.  The video for the surprisingly jazzy track was directed by the award-winning Tamukai Jun and features various different faceless chefs preparing a meal for the band as they dance around the mansion the scenario is set in.

“ANTI-HERO” is set to be used as the theme song for the first of the two “Shingeki no Kyojin” (“Attack on Titan”) films, which will be released in Japanese theaters on August 1st.  Also of note is that the lead track is the band’s first official release to feature no Japanese lyrics, the song recorded entirely in English.

Ling Tosite Sigure to release new Mini-Album recorded in Berlin

Well-known alternative rock band Ling Tosite Sigure have revealed that they will be releasing a new mini-album on September 2nd of this year.  Titled “es or s”, this release was produced by the band during a roughly 2 week stay in Berlin, Germany and includes 5 brand new songs which were recorded at the legendary Hansa Studios, where famed European artists David Bowie and U2 have worked in the past.

“es or s” is currently set to be sold in two different versions:  a Regular Edition which will include all 5 of the aforementioned tracks, and a Limited Edition which will be packaged with a 7-inch analog record with one track from the album on each side, liner notes written by the members themselves, a film-style photobook made by vocalist and guitarist TK, and an interview with the band conducted by famed music writer and Berlin resident Asanuma Yuka.  In addition, the band will also be going on a short nation-wide tour in September titled “Ling Tosite Sigure S.O.S. Tour 2015” in support of this new release.

Shiina Ringo to Have Special Week of Nico Nico Events

This past Friday, Shiina Ringo released her new Coca Cola CM song, “Nagaku Mijikai Matsuri”, digitally. The full single, “Nagaku Mijikai Matsuri / Kamisama, Hotokesama”, will be released physically on August 5. To celebrate the single’s release, Ringo is having a special week of events on Nico Nico titled “Shiina Ringo Shichiya Renzoku ‘Nagaku Mijikai Matsuri / Kamisama, Hotokesama’ Release Kinen Special Week.”

This special week of programming begins Tuesday night at 9 PM JST and continues til July 20. From Tuesday til Saturday, the programs will consists of music videos and live clips. On Sunday, all the programs will be presented in 1 full 24 hour block. On Monday, Ringo herself makes a special live appearance. Check out the schedule and links to the programs after the jump!

Fukuyama Masaharu to release a special Live DVD in August

Late last year, popular singer/songwriter Fukuyama Masaharu held a pair of special lives on December 23rd and 24th; only his male fans were allowed to attend the show on the 23rd, while the concert on the following night was limited to his female fans.  Now he has chosen to release the former concert for everyone to view, with a brand new Live DVD set to be released through Amuse’s online store on August 1st (more general music retailers will be able to sell the release starting in the Fall).

The DVD/Blu-ray will be titled “Fukuyama☆Fuyu no Daikanshasai Sono Jyuyon THE BEGINNING” and will be released in both Regular and Limited editions.  The Regular edition will include the entire 186 minute concert on 2 discs, will full Japanese subtitles, while the Limited edition will add an extra disc that includes backstage footage as well as several songs from the Female-only live on the 24th.

Mystery unit ATARASHII GAKKOU NO LEADERS and Fit’s collaborate for 360-degree VR video

To celebrate the release of their new salty citrus flavor, Lotte’s chewing gum brand Fit’s has collaborated with the mystery dance and vocal unit ATARASHII GAKKOU NO LEADERS to bring the latest 360-degree video experience.

With 360-degree videos, you can look around the scene while they’re playing, making videos that much more exciting and interactive. Viewing it on Virtual Reality devices like Oculus or Google Cardboard lets you simply move your head, as if you were there. Luckily if you don’t have your hands on any of those, in March of this year, Youtube added a feature that allows you to drag your view in whichever direction or angle to reveal views beyond normal video conventions.

By making full use of the 360 degree viewing functionality, this video has surprises that reveal themselves upon multiple viewings. You can find certain people and favorite characters, and follow them throughout the video.
