SEKAI NO OWARI and Gesu no Kiwami Otome. are two of the bands that are leading Japan’s nascent band boom, so it comes as no surprise that the leaders of the 2 bands are friends. Fukase of SEKAI NO OWARI took to Twitter today to show support for his friend, Gesu no Kiwami Otome.’s Kawatani Enon, in light of his adultery scandal involving Becky.

The music video for WaT’s new song “Hajimari no Toki” has been released. The duo, comprising of Wentz Eiji and Koike Teppei, has announced they will be disbanding on February 11.

“Hajimari no Toki” is a new song produced by Komatsu Kiyohito and is included in the duo’s last release, “Sotsugyo BEST” album. The lyrics of the song takes a look back on the activities of the group and the music video features the duo singing with a gentle smiling expression. The album will be released on February 10, a day before their official disbandment.

Two older songs return to the top of the digital charts this week.

Nishino Kana’s “Torisetsu” topped Recochoku this week. It was previously #1 on Recochoku the weeks of 9/9 – 9/15, 9/16 – 9/22, 9/23 – 9/29, 9/30 – 10/6, and 10/7 – 10/13. “Torisetsu” was previously #1 on iTunes the weeks of 9/16 – 9/22, 9/23 – 9/29, 9/30 – 10/6, 10/7 – 10/13, and 10/14 – 10/20.

Hoshino Gen’s “SUN” topped iTunes this week. It was previously #1 on iTunes the weeks of 6/24 – 6/30 and 7/1 – 7/7.

back number’s “Christmas Song” topped the Recochoku monthly chart for December. This is the second month in a row it has topped the Recochoku monthly chart.

Kyoto Prefectural Police have arrested a 26 year old man from Yamashina Ward for illegally acquiring an identification card from a local government office. The reason he wanted to get an illegal ID? So he could get more AKB48 handshake tickets, Sankei Shimbun reports. Handshake event tickets are contained in limited edition CDs, and a valid photo ID is required for purchase.

Today, Shukan Bunshun revealed that Kawatani Enon (27) of the bands Gesu no Kiwami Otome. and indigo la End is supposedly dating Becky (31). The problem though is that he is currently married. Enon has secretly been married since last summer. He met Becky in October, and the rumored couple said that that they began a friendship soon afterwards. Becky was a fan of Enon’s, and she, like everyone else, had no idea that he was married. Enon told Becky that he was married in November. Shukan Bunshun discovered LINE messages between Enon and Becky speaking of Enon’s plans to divorce his wife and then marry Becky.

After Enon’s Kohaku Uta Gassen debut with his band Gesu no Kiwami Otome., he and his rumored girlfriend traveled to Nagasaki to spend the New Year with his parents. It is during this Nagasaki trip that the rumored couple was photographed together. When asked if they were a couple, both parties denied the allegations. Becky told Shukan Bunshun to ask her management if she was dating Enon. When Shukan Bunshun asked Enon about his wife, he said that she was just a friend.

Yamashita Tomohisa will be releasing his first best album titled “YAMA-P” on January 27. The album will include carefully selected singles and representative songs from the start of his solo activities in 2012.

The album features a hidden song that fans have yearned to be released, titled “Dreamer”, which will be recorded in a CD for the first time. “Dreamer” is a self-covered work, which Yamashita himself wrote the lyrics and Kameda Seiji arranged. To represent the positive lyrics of – believing in tomorrow to advance for the future – the music video was shot in the secluded regions of Arizona.

“Dreamer” will be used as the ending theme song for the anime “Itoshi no Muco”. The song will began airing with the anime’s 14th episode, which airs this Saturday.

Limited Edition A includes a collection of music videos while Limited Edition B includes “Dreamer” -banvox Remix-. The Dreamer PV and making DVD with photobook will only be available by lottery to 3000 fans.

On January 13, METAFIVE will release their debut album, “META.” Today, the supergroup released the music video for the album’s second track, “Luv U Tokio.” The clip is very sleek and stylish. It has a simple color palate: black, white, gray, and red. The video has a mechanical feel to it and showcases the cosmopolitan allure of Tokyo.

METAFIVE also recently released a live studio video for “Maisie’s Avenue”, the third track on “META.” It is similar to the video that METAFIVE previously released for “Don’t Move.”
