This week, BOYS AND MEN topped the Oricon single chart with their new single “BOYMEN NINJA”, selling 102,196 copies in its first week.

“Uta Monogatari -<Monogatari> Series Shudaika Shu-“, a compilation featuring several different acts, topped the Oricon album chart this week, selling 66,451 copies in its first week.

AKB48’s “365 Nichi no Kamihikouki” topped Recochoku this week, after debuting on the chart the week of 12/2 – 12/8.

Hoshino Gen’s “SUN” topped iTunes this week for the second week in a row, bringing its total weeks at the top of this chart to 4.

On January 13, LUCKY TAPES releases their new single, “MOON.” It was engineered by Gesu no Kiwami Otome. LUCKY TAPES has performed the 3 songs on the single at their recent shows. The DVD that comes with the single contains footage of one of those shows. It was held at Shibuya WWW last September.

Today, LUCKY TAPES released the music video for “MOON.” It revolves around a girl, played by model Takesue Shiori (who also appears on the single’s cover), spending a night in a Tokyo hotel room. One of the big stories of the last few days has been the affair between Becky and the secretly married frontman of Gesu no Kiwami Otome. and indigo la End, Kawatani Enon. Shukan Bunshun broke the story last week and now they’re back with another scoop. They are the first news entity to speak to the wife of Kawatani Enon.

In this article, Enon’s wife was called “A.” She and Enon started dating in the spring of 2012, and married last July. This marriage was not public knowledge until Shukan Bunshun revealed it last week. When asked about “A” originally, Enon told Shukan Bunshun that she was “just a friend”, but later admitted that “A” is in fact his wife. This “just friends” stance would later be repeated by Becky and Enon in regards to their relationship after the scandal broke.

Rumors are running rampant that SMAP has broken up. Four members of the group, Nakai Masahiro, Inagaki Goro, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, and Katori Shingo, are reported to have left the company due to the resignation of their manager, Iijima Michi. Kimura Takuya is said to be the only remaining SMAP member in Johnny & Associates.

Johnny & Associates have now issued an official statement on the situation.

Oricon has reported that Arashi’s latest album, “Japonism”, sold 3,513 copies last week. This has pushed the album over the million mark, with total sales so far of 1,001,000.

“Japonism” is Arashi’s third million-selling album. The first was the 2009 best album, “All the BEST! 1999-2009”, which sold 1,961,000 copies. The second was 2010’s “Boku no Miteiru Fuukei.” It sold 1,132,000 copies.

On February 3, Naoto Inti Raymi will release his new single, “Mirai e.” The song serves as the theme song for the Japanese Red Cross Society blood drive that Yuzuru Hanyu is currently starring in the CM for. “Mirai e” can be heard in the CM. The single will be released in 3 editions: a CD+DVD Limited Edition, a CD only Regular Edition, and a CD+Photobook Fan Club Limited Edition. The DVD that comes with the Limited Edition is a diary of Naoto Inti Raymi’s recent trip to Vietnam. The photobook that comes with the Fan Club Limited Edition chronicles his December 23 concert at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome.

Today, Naoto Inti Raymi released the music video for “Mirai e.” The clips centers on a family’s living room. Viewers see the growth of the family from a newlywed couple to a family complete with grandchildren. Check it out after the jump, along with more details on the single!

The idols of Johnny & Associates are active in many different fields, including hosting television shows. With the rumor that SMAP had disbanded after 25 years being the big story of the day, 4 Johnny’s were put on the spot on today’s morning news shows.

TOKIO’s Kokubun Taichi hosts TBS’s “Hakunetsu Live Vivit.” When the SMAP news was brought up today, he said that he saw the newspapers this morning and was frankly surprised by the news. He continued, saying that none of the members of SMAP had said anything to him personally yet, therefore he couldn’t say anything more. There was similar gossip around the time of last year’s Kohaku Uta Gassen, but he didn’t feel it from the SMAP members, so this rumor came as a surprise to him.
