Arashi’s “Japonism” Sells a Million Copies

Oricon has reported that Arashi’s latest album, “Japonism”, sold 3,513 copies last week. This has pushed the album over the million mark, with total sales so far of 1,001,000.

“Japonism” is Arashi’s third million-selling album. The first was the 2009 best album, “All the BEST! 1999-2009”, which sold 1,961,000 copies. The second was 2010’s “Boku no Miteiru Fuukei.” It sold 1,132,000 copies.

This is the first time in 3 years and 7 months that a male act, solo or group, has sold a million albums. The last act to do this was Mr.Children, with their 2012 best album “Mr.Children 2001-2005 <micro>.”
