Tomohisa Yamashita has bagged another high profile role, this time for the upcoming Hulu drama series “Drops of God”. This series will be a joint co-production between Japan, France, and the U.S. Joining him in the main role will be French actress Fleur Geffrier.
The drama series is based off of the manga series “Kami no Shizuku” by Shin Kibayashi, but there will be some key differences. In the manga the main character was a Japanese man, however in the Hulu version the main character is a French woman named Kamille (Fleur Geffrier). Yamapi will be playing the role of Issei Toomine.
Top Actors Masami Nagasawa & Masahiro Higashide will be reuniting for a new film apart of the extremely popular “Confidence Man” series. Also rejoining the duo is veteran actor Fumiyo Kohinata, who also appeared in the past Confidence Man installments. All characters will be reprising their respective roles.
Former Morning Musume member and TV Tokyo announcer Asami Konno has given birth to her 3rd child! She shared the exciting news on her official blog, accompanied with the entry was a cute photo of his little hand. She confirmed that both herself and her son are in good health.
Konno also shared some of the struggles she had with this birth. In additional to typical symptoms like “morning sickness”, she experienced sharp stomach pains and acid reflux. She usually had a strong appetite, but became worried when she wasn’t really gaining weight. Despite the tough pregnancy, everything ended up going smoothly once the actual birth date arrived.
Artisté Ayumi Hamasaki has announced a brand new tour! The upcoming live spectacle will be her first Asian tour in 14 years. “ASIA TOUR 2021-2022 ~ 23rd Monster ~” will be kicking off in October 2021 in her native Japan, before hitting the road to stops across Asia.
So far only the Japanese dates for the tour have been announced, and as usual members of her fanclub TeamAyu will have first dibs on concert tickets once they are available for sale. Additionally, guidelines will be in-place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Ayu’s website warned that these guidelines will continually be changed based off of guidelines from the government.
In August 2021 famed actor and martial artist Sonny Chiba became ill due to COVID-19. At the beginning of his diagnosis he was receiving treatment while at home, but unforutnely his condition grew worse just days later. He was transported from home and was hospitalized where it was confirmed he had developed pneumonia.
Sonny’s condition only began to get worse, on August 19th it was confirmed that he had died of complications related to COVID-19. He was 82-years-old. Sonny’s agency later confirmed that he had not received his vaccine shots yet. Sonny’s son Mackenyu Arata took to his Instagram post to share a simple, but very heartwarming tribute to his father.

The cheating scandal between voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki and LiSA has allegedly taken a very dark turn. Earlier in the month Tatsuhisa’s agency confirmed that he would be taking a hiatus from all entertainment activities due to his poor health. LiSA would also be going on hiatus from her entertainment activities to recover from both “physical and mental fatigue”. This included concerts to support her 2021 album “LADYBUG“.
This all happened after it was revealed that Tatsuhisa was cheating on her with one of his fans, the two had only just married in January 2020. Shortly after their hiatus announcement, rumors started circulating on social media that Tatsuhisa had attempted to commit suicide, tabloids began to get scoops on the story with additional details.
