On August 28, the first night of Fuji TV’s “FNS Laugh & Music ~Uta to Warai no Saiten~”, a celebration of comedy and music, aired. The show was hosted by Matsumoto Hitoshi, Nakai Masahiro, Ninety Nine, Chidori, Untouchable, and Fuji TV announcers Koyamauchi Suzuna, Komuro Eriko, and Takemata Beni. The show was a mixture of comedians and musical acts, with the latter group including Ayumi Hamasaki, Mika Nakashima, GENERATIONS, Kawasaki Takaya, and more. Check out the full show below!

On September 29, Snow Man will release their debut album, “Snow Mania S1.”
The album will be released in three editions: 2CD+DVD/Blu-ray limited edition A, CD+DVD/Blu-ray limited edition B, and CD only regular edition. All of the editions will include the previously released singles “D.D.”, “KISSIN’ MY LIPS”, “Grandeur”, and “HELLO HELLO”, along with some new songs. The second CD that comes with limited edition A will feature songs from Snow Man’s Johnny’s Jr. era, while the CD that comes with limited edition B will feature three sub-unit songs. The regular edition CD will feature a bonus track and a voice drama.
Ahead of the release of “Snow Mania S1”, Snow Man has released the music video for one of the album’s new songs, “EVOLUTION.” The choreography in the video was created by Iwamoto Hikaru. In can be seen below, along with more information on their debut album!
In some related, but unfortunate, news, it has been announced that Abe Ryohei has tested positive for COVID-19. He tested positive on August 26, while appearing on a TV show. At first, he had no symptoms, but currently, he has a fever, sore throat, and loss of smell and taste. He is currently being looked after by medical staff. The other members of Snow Man were tested and came out negative.
Nikkei Entertainment’s “Talent Power Ranking” list for 2021 is now out. Yonezu Kenshi tops the list for musical acts, up from #3 last year. Southern All Stars is second, rising from fourth place. Rounding out the top three is Hoshino Gen, last year’s #10. Find out the rest of the top 30 after the jump!
This year’s edition of Nikkei Entertainment’s annual “Talent Power Ranking” is now available. The main list, the overall top 50, is now available. Ayase Haruka tops the ranking this year, up from #3 last year. Sandwich Man comes in second, falling from #1. Aragaki Yui is #3, dropping one spot. Find out the rest of the top 50 after the jump!
Japan continues to struggle with the COVID-19 pandemic, this week saw another new batch of public figures testing positive for the virus. Actress Izumi Inamori was confirmed to be positive after her official website made the announcement.
On August 24th Izumi began to develop symptoms associated with a fever, the following day she received a test where she tested positive. She’s currently recuperating at home. Izumi is now starring in the TBS medical drama series “TOKYO MER: Mobile Emergency Room”.
