Singer (?), former idol, and Japan’s national treasure Maki Goto has announced that she is currently pregnant with her second child! Maki recently shared the news on her official blog revealing that she has roughly reached the halfway mark in her pregnancy. She is currently 5 months pregnant and is expected to give birth sometime in the spring.
After going on hiatus in 2011, Maki made a return to the entertainment scene in 2014 choosing to focus on modeling, blogging, and promoting events/products. Later in the year Maki confirmed her marriage to a non-celebrity , and gave birth to her first child in December 2015.
We are wishing her all the best!
As previously reported, the 25th anniversary of SMAP‘s debut will be commemorated with a special album of 50 songs. Over a two week period from September 21st to October 4th, fans were able to vote for their favorites from a discography of over 400 songs. The selected songs will be organized by chronological order and divided into three CDs. About 2 million votes were cast and the results are in. Fans chose the top song as a final heartfelt message to the national idol group whose legacy will be remembered for years to come.
Which of your favorites made the list?
Promotion for “Death Note: Light Up the New World” has been gaining momentum, among this is the “miracle collaboration” between Death Note character Ryuk and global meme PPAP(Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen). The video shows Ryuk playfully dancing and lip-syncing to the song that is starting to take over the world. The Ryuk version of Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen has already nearly reached 2 million hits on youtube in under 24 hours, looks like this meme won’t be losing steam anytime soon!
Death Note: Light Up the New World was released on October 29th where it instantly went to #1 at the box office, earning 458 Million Yen in it’s opening weekend.
The spookiest holiday of the year is now over, and as usual tons of celebrities decided to dress up for Satan’s holiday flooding social media with their costumes. The Halloween costumes in Japan followed similar trends to the west (not even they could escape the Harley Quinn fad!) but quite a few celebrities decided to think outside the box this year.
Check out some our favorite costumes for 2016 below!
The rock and roll lifestyle is a hard one; especially when it’s time to hit the road. Some hardly last for 3 years, much less 35! Shonen Knife has been able to do so. The rock group from Osaka has been on their North American for the last month and I was able to catch them smack dab in the middle of it.
The year maybe ending in two months, but that doesn’t mean we’re getting a shortage of good music. Miliyah Kato has recently uploaded the teaser video for “Saikou na Shiawase” and short PV to “Maboroshi” to the internet. Both songs are from Miliyah’s upcoming December release also entitled Saikou na Shiawase. By the looks of it, you wouldn’t noticed that the two videos are linked at first. But pay close attention as you watch both of them.
