Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi to Release Double A-Side Single

On May 24, Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi will release his new single, a double A-side titled “SKY’s the limit / Tsuki no Sanagi.” “SKY’s the limit” is the CM song for Shiseido’s Anessa sunscreen, while “Tsuki no Sanagi” is the ending theme for the TV Tokyo drama “SR Saitama no Rapper ~Mic no Hosomichi~.”

The video for “SKY’s the limit” was recently released. The upbeat pop song has the theme of “being beautiful is the most beautiful” and is aimed at people who live on the internet. The music video takes places at a pool party and features partygoers using the animated message app SNOW. Check it out below, with more information on Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi’s new release!

Former KAT-TUN member Koki Tanaka arrested for suspected marijuana possession

Koki Tanaka, former member of the popular Johnny’s boy band KAT-TUN has just been arrested by the police on suspected possession of marijuana.

According to a report, Koki was said to be violating Japan’s very stringent cannabis control laws. It was said that he was using the substance in Dogenzaka, located inside the Shibuya ward.

In a statement released by the Metropolitan Police Department, Koki was stopped by the police around 6PM while driving.

Cannabis was allegedly found on the floor between the drivers seat and passenger seat. In response to the allegations and arrest, Koki declared: “The weed in the car wasn’t mine.” When originally stopped by police in the car, he was alone.

Back in 2013 Koki’s contract was terminated by Johnnys & Associates. He went on to form a rock band called “INKT”, who made their debut in 2014.

KOM_I visits Mongolia in Suyoubi no Campanella’s MV for “Melos”

Electronic outfit Suiyoubi no Campanella (a.k.a Wednesday Campanella) just released a music video for “Melos“, first new track since the release of their critically acclaimed record “SUPERMAN”.

The track showcases a slightly different approach for the group, adopting a linear structure featuring different influences that merge together flawlessly, mostly thanks to a smooth progression between the various sections composing the number: from the Lounge influences in the verses to the massive Electronic soundscape of the chorus, each part of the track shows a remarkable attention for details while providing the typical variousness of Campanella’s compositions. KOM_I does an excellent job in the vocal department, valorizing each section with a heartfelt interpretation boosted by her unique charisma. It’s a well-crafted and enjoyable track that fans will undoubtedly love.

SALU and Yurufuwa Gang Dance with Aliens in “Yoru ni Shitsu Kusu” PV

On May 24, SALU will release his new album, “INDIGO.” Ahead of the album’s release, he’s released the music video for his collaboration with Yurufuwa Gang, “Yoru ni Shitsu Kusu.” The song was written and recorded the same day that SALU and the rap duo composed of Ryugo Ishida and Sophiee met. The music video for the song starts off with SALU looking for a small flying saucer in a container facility, discovering Yurufuwa Gang along the way. It ends in the three rappers dancing with the aliens. Check it out below!

Keishi Tanaka jams with Ropes in Live Music Video for “Fuyu no Ao”

Last we heard from jazz singer/songwriter Keishi Tanaka, he’d just released his third full album “What’s A Trunk?“.  Now, half a year later, he’s chosen to release a music video for the record’s eighth track “Fuyu no Ao”.

As the track was originally a collaboration with duo Ropes, they join him and a number of other musicians to perform the song live in the studio.  In addition, Keishi also published another live video earlier this year, this time showcasing a cover of The Natsuyasumi Band’s “Sekai no Shasou Kara”.

Yurufuwa Remove to release their First Mini-Album in June

Young rock band Yurufuwa Remove have revealed that they will be releasing their first mini-album, titled “Gasei”, on June 21st.  This release will include the three singles which preceded it, “Awa ni Naru Mae ni”, “Monologue”, and “Yume no Kioku”, a new recording of limited EP track “Flashback”, and three brand new songs.

Along with the announcement, the group also published the PV for the mini-album’s lead track “Scarlet” to the Tower Records Youtube channel.  The video for the release’s emotive closer focuses on a young man wandering through a city, his travels eventually taking him to the shore of a desolate beach.

Yuzu to release two new EPs in two consecutive weeks

Following up on the success of their recent Best album, folk-pop duo Yuzu have announced that they will be releasing two brand new four-song EPs in June.  The first, titled “Utaou”, will be released on June 21st, while the latter, titled “4LOVE”, will be released the following week on June 28th.

“Utaou” is an EP designed around the theme of acoustic tracks and will include both their News Zero theme “Canaria” and their previously released digital single “Tatta”.  “4LOVE” is composed of four songs intended to each show a different side of the concept of ‘love’ and will include their newly revealed Ito-En CM song “Ai Koso”.
