Back in September, math rockers JYOCHO released their second mini-album “Aoi Ie de Bokura Kurasu.” Now that a couple of months have passed, the group have chosen unveil the PV for the record’s lead track “Aoi Ie,” which has been posted to their label’s Youtube channel.
This PV details a day in the lives of a pair of girls, one short-haired and the other long-haired, the events on one side of the screen mirroring those on the other. These story-based shots are paired with a performance of the track by the band, which has likewise been split into a pair of windows.

KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya will be starring in the new Fuji TV – Kansai TV drama series “FINAL CUT” to start airing in January next year in the Tuesdays, 9pm timeslot. This is his first Fuji TV drama after almost 11.5 years since “Suppli” in 2006 and his first solo lead role in the network.
This is Kamenashi’s first time challenging a “revenge drama” as the protagonist Nakamura Keisuke. When he was a high school student, his mother was accused of killing a girl, driving her to commit suicide. After 12 years, he searches for the real culprit and moves to take revenge upon those responsible for his mother’s suicide.
Keisuke targets the staff and host involved in the interview of his mother and crosses paths with sisters who hold the key to the case. Keisuke hides his identity when approaching his target, and exposes a fatal video “final cut” where that person’s life ends when it is released. Meanwhile, a police official in charge of the incident 12 years ago appears. Is he a friend or an enemy?

On November 28, Nippon TV will this year’s edition of its annual year end music special, Best Artist. The show will start at 7PM JST and run for about four hours. Best Artist 2017 will be held at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe. Sakurai Sho will be hosting for the ninth consecutive year, with Hatori Shinichi, Miura Asami, and Bakarhythm serving as co-hosts.
Best Artist 2017 will feature performances by the likes of Arashi, Hoshino Gen, Morning Musume. ’17, Daichi Miura, Perfume, B’z, and Kanjani8.
The centerpiece of the show will be a medley titled “Minna Odoreru! Furitsuke Song 50-nen Medley.” In this medley, performers will collaborate through song and dance, performing hits from the past 50 years. See what these collaborations are, along with who else is performing, below!
On November 22, iri will have a new release titled “life ep.” As with her previous releases, “life ep” features of mix of talent behind the scenes, including Kenmochi Hidefumi, mabanua, and YOSA.
iri recently released the music video for her collaboration with 5lack, “Telephone.” The song was written and composed by iri and 5lack, with him being in charge of arrangement. Check it out below, along with more information on iri’s new EP!
Shiggy Jr. recently moved from Universal to Victor Entertainment. The band is now ready to debut under Victor, with a new release titled “SHUFFLE!! E.P.”, out November 22. The EP contains five songs, two of which are Fuji TV drama themes. “Yuwaku no Party” serves as the theme for “Ayamachi Scramble”, while “Boku wa Ame no Naka” is the theme song for “Boku wa Mari no Naka.”

The GQ Men of The Year Awards recently took place in Tokyo, and the buzz around former SMAP members Shingo Katori, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, & Goro Inagaki attending together dominated the headlines. This is the first time all three of them officially attended a public event together since gaining their “independence” by leaving Johnny & Associates.
The GQ Men of The Year Awards is an annual event held to celebrate men who show outstanding success in their respected fields. Nine men were selected in total this year, ranging from Actors, athletes, and a professional shogi player. The first set of awards took place in the United States back in 1994, and has since went on to be celebrated in 14 other countries worldwide. This is the 12th year for the event in Japan.
Since leaving Johnny’s all three of them took SNS by storm. Inagaki created a blog, Kusanagi started to vlog on YouTube, and Katori created his own Instagram account. All three have also made their way to Twitter. While all three are very basic things, it’s still a pretty big deal to see former Johnny’s freely use these platforms.
The three have also begun to appear on various variety shows together. Delighted with receiving the award Goro commented “I’m so thankful for receiving this honorable prize. I started this new journey with Katori and Kusunagi-kun full of enthusiasm and am very pleased to be honored. I would like to keep moving forward as an entertainer”
Manga creator ONE followed his massive hit One-Punch Man with Mob Psycho 100. The web manga of Mob Psycho 100 also led to an anime adaptation by Bones released in Summer 2016 and a stage play to run from January 6-14, 2018 at The Galaxy Theater in Tokyo. The next incarnation of this beloved series will take place on the television screen with a live action drama series through Netflix premiering on January 12 2018 and TV Tokyo on January 18.
