The 10th CD Shop Awards 2018 have selected their 10 finalists for this year’s grand prize. The top 10 were selected by 955 CD shop staff from a pool of 24 albums released last year, with 11 from the first half of the year, and 13 from the second half. Voting for the top 10 took place January 11 – 21. The award ceremony will take place in March. Find out what albums made the cut after the jump!

Johnny’s talent Yamashita Tomohisa recently enjoyed a relaxing vacation in Hawaii, what made this trip so interesting is that he apparently was spending lots of time with a beautiful woman.
The woman in question was not his girlfriend, actress Satomi Ishihara. This time Yamapi was spotted with 21 year old Niki Niwa, a popular up-and-coming model who gained fame by appearing as a cast member on the reality television show Terrace House: Aloha State.
Yamapi and Ishihara’s relationship blossomed after appearing together in the 2015 Fuji TV drama series 5-ji Kara 9-ji Made: Watashi ni Koi Shita Obōsan. The following year they took their relationship to the next step by moving in together. Once moving in together, whispers of marriage quickly started to circulate within the tabloid scene.

We previously reported that singer and multi-instrumentalist Ohashi Trio will be releasing his latest full-length album “STEREO” next week on Valentine’s Day. In what appears to be his final bit of pre-release promo, he has now uploaded an official trailer for the record to his label’s Youtube channel.
This digest previews every song on the album, from the funky “VENUS“, to the bouncy and electronic “Timing”, to ebullient album closer “Tori no You na”. In addition, the trailer also gives the first listen to the release’s bonus track, a remix of the formerly acoustic “SHE” done by SIRUP.

Alt rockers THE BACK HORN will be celebrating their 20th anniversary together as a band this year. As the first part of these festivities, the group recently revealed that they will be releasing a new Mini-Album titled “Jyoukei Dorobou” next month on March 7th.
“Jyoukei Dorobou”will include seven newly written songs from the band, and its Limited Edition will also come packaged with a DVD containing footage from the group’s October Live at Tokyo’s Hibiya Yagai Ongakudo. Of note, the cover for this release was painted by drummer Shinji Matsuda, making this the first time that the band has used his art since the release of album “Taiyou no Naka no Seikatsu” back in 2006.

Toward the end of 2017, popular rock band RADWIMPS announced that they would be releasing a new Double A-side single titled “Mountain Top / Shape Of Miracle” on February 21st. Both A-sides are closely tied to the Japanese release of movie “KU-KAI”, with “Mountain Top” to serve as the film’s theme song and “Shape Of Miracle” its image song.
Now, to coincide with the digital release of “Mountain Top”, the group has chosen to upload the track’s music video to their Youtube channel. This special PV is composed of various different shots from “KU-KAI”, aiming to immerse watchers within the world of the film.
