“Hana Nochi Hare ~ The Next Season” Trailers and Visuals

They hype is on for the Hanadan sequel “Hana Nochi Hare ~ The Next Season”. The drama premieres April 17 on TBS (Tuesdays, 10pm) and teaser trailers and character visuals have been released. Take a look at the cast with Sugisaki Hana playing the new heroine Edogawa Oto. King & Prince’s Hirano Sho will take on the leader of the group C5, who now rules Eitoku Academy, and Nakagawa Taishi will play Oto’s fiance and the student council president of a rival school. King & Prince’s debut song “Cinderella Girl” which will be released on May 23 is featured in the teaser trailers.

The other cast who make up C5 are Suzuki Jin as Narumiya Issha,  Hamada Tatsuomi as Taira Kaito, Imada Mio as Mayu Airi, and Nakata Keisuke as Eibi Sugimaru. Iitoyo Marie will play as Nishidome Megumi, a popular model who transfers to Eitoku Academy to get closer to Haruto.

Sasaki Sumie and David Ito from Hana Yori Dango will also appear in the drama, reprising their roles as head maid Tama and secretary Nishida.

Avex starts uploading videos for Johnny & Associate acts on YouTube

Who ever thought we would see the day? Avex trax has officially stared to upload content from Johnny & Associate groups that have ties with the company.

Last year it was alleged that Johnny & Associates would finally start to embrace the internet, and it quickly turned out to be true.

Earlier in the year they finally lifted some of the restrictions on their image ban, so now the photos of talents that belong to the agency can appear on various online websites. They followed this by creating an official YouTube account for Johnnys Jr.

Ai Otsuka’s new song Dracaena selected as ending theme for “Pikachin-Kit”

It has been determined that Ai Otsuka’s brand new song Dracaena will serve as the new ending theme for the children’s anime show Pikachin-Kit.

Dracaena has been described a mid-tempo ballad, with lyrics about the bonds and compassion that guide us through life. The song is named after a type of plant that consts of over 100 different types of trees and succulent shrubs.

Dracaena will air for the very first time on April 7th, from then on it will be available digitally in Japan for purchase or streaming.

Pikachin-Kit is a multimedia project that will include anime, managa, toys, YouTube videos, and even a variety program. The staff for the anime features many members who previously worked with Pokemon and Yo-Kai Watch.

Ayumi Hamasaki 1st Asian celebrity to collab with “DEFEND PARIS”, honors LGBT rights

Singer Ayumi Hamasaki has announced a collaboration with the European street wear brand DEFEND PARIS.

DEFEND PARIS seemingly appeared out of nowhere, but a lot their clothes tend to evoke a strong social message. One of their more popular pieces is a hoodie with the text “DEFEND PARIS” along with a AK-47 gun, it’s meant to share an anti-war message. The brand is very popular with international celebrities including Madonna, Akon, and Zachary Quinto.

This marks the first time that the brand is officially collaborating with a celebrity from Asia. The goal of the collaboration is to send a message of hope to all the sexual minorities around the world.

Two shirts and two caps will be available for purchase, in either black or white. The text reads “DEFEND TOKYO” with a rainbow heart in the middle, on the t-shirts the back has an excerpt from Ayumi Hamasaki’s 2013 song how beautiful you are.  

Shoma Uno and Wakaba Higuchi Place 2nd at World Championships, Satoko Miyahara 3rd

From March 19 – 25, this year’s World Figure Skating Championships took place in Milan, Italy. Shoma Uno and Wakaba Higuchi took second place in the men’s and women’s events, respectively. Satoko Miyahara placed third in the women’s event.

Shoma Uno placed second in the men’s event with a total score of 273.77, 47.63 points behind American Nathan Chen. Shoma injured his right ankle while practicing for Worlds. His short program received a score of 94.26, placing him in fifth. Instead of his planned quad salchow / triple toe loop combo, Shoma did a triple salchow / double toe loop combo. After the short program, Shoma said that his reserved skate was “a little easy.” He added that he planned to do his full free skate, four quad jumps included. “I won’t give up on my original routine until the very end,” he said.

Shoma’s free skate was given a score of 179.51, placing him in second, 39.95 points behind Nathan. He fell three times during his free skate. “It (my free skate) wasn’t much of a performance, but I was able to finish strong. It might have looked ugly, I never gave up and remained in command,” said after his skate. “I made quite a lot of mistakes, but in the end I was able to fall back on my training. The condition of my foot was a lot better tonight, and the mistakes I made were more of a failure to make adjustments.”

Keyakizaka46 topped the Streaming Songs chart with their single “Glass wo Ware!”

Yonezu Kenshi topped the Download Songs chart for the fifth consecutive week with his single “Lemon.”

The “Greatest Showman” soundtrack topped the Download Albums chart for the fifth consecutive week.
