Next year will be a big year for LDH, with the company carrying out its “LDH PERFECT YEAR 2020” campaign. This campaign will see the company mobilize 3 million fans through various concerts and live events.
“LDH PERFECT YEAR 2020” will start on New Year’s Eve this year with the announcement of the company’s first countdown concert, “LDH PERFECT YEAR 2020 COUNTDOWN LIVE 2019→2020.” The concert will be at Fukuoka Yahoo! Dome with EXILE and Sandaime J Soul Brothers performing.
On June 12, Daichi Miura will release his new single, “Katasumi / Corner.” The first song on the double A-side single is an insert song in the Nippon TV drama “Hakui no Senshi!” “Katasumi” was composed by the multi-talented Koki. On working with Koki, Daichi said that she was very straightfoward and that he was happy to make music with her. Koki said that she was happy to have Daichi sing the song, seeing as how she envisioned it be to sung by someone with a high vocal tone. Today, Daichi released the music video for “Katasumi”, which can be seen below!
June 12 also sees the release of Daichi’s new tour DVD / Blu-ray, “DAICHI MIURA LIVE TOUR ONE END in Osaka-jo Hall.” This tour is the longest one of his career, seeing him perform 39 shows in 29 venues across Japan. This release consists of two videos discs and two CDs. The first video disc contains footage from the tour’s final show at Osaka-jo Hall this past March, while the second video disc documents a show from last December at Tokyo International Forum Hall A. The two CDs included with “DAICHI MIURA LIVE TOUR ONE END in Osaka-jo Hall” are live CDs featuring songs from the title concert. Yesterday, Tyler, the Creator‘s new album, “IGOR”, was revealed to be the #1 album in the US this week. Listeners who are familiar with Japanese music may have heard someone familiar while listening to the album: Yamashita Tatsuro. The full credits for “IGOR” were released today and Yamashita was listed, along with the likes of Kanye West, Pharrell, and Solange.
Back in April we reported that popular singer Kenshi Yonezu will be performing the theme song for the upcoming animated feature “Kaijuu no Kodomo”. Ahead of its June 3rd digital release, the music video for this track – “Umi no Yuurei” – has now been uploaded to Yonezu’s YouTube channel.
Originally screened at a special pre-release event on the Tokyo Bay, the PV is composed of footage from the aforementioned film which has been edited together to better pair with the electronic ballad. Of note, this release marks the first time that Kenshi has not designed the cover visuals himself, instead leaving the task to “Kaijuu no Kodomo” mangaka Daisuke Igarashi.
