On December 31, the 70th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will air. This year seems to be marked with more late additions than usual, and now we have another one: Yumi Matsutoya.
Yumi will perform her 1984 song “No Side” for the first time on Kohaku this year. The song is about the feelings of women watching fighters. “No Side” garnered attention during the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
On December 27, “MUSIC STATION ULTRA SUPER LIVE 2019” will air. The show will feature performances by the likes of Arashi, Shiina Ringo, Perfume, Koda Kumi, MISIA, m-flo, Daichi Miura, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. The song list for the show has been released, and can be seen below!
On December 18 at Zepp DiverCity TOKYO, MIYAVI held an event to announce his transfer to LDH JAPAN. He was joined at the event by EXILE AKIRA.
At the event, MIYAVI said that his heart was trembling. He was thinking seriously about developing his international career, and decided to team up with LDH in 2020 to “rock the world” together.
Today marks the release of Airi Suzuki’s second studio album “i“.
It’s been just over a year and a half since the release of her debut studio album “Do me a favor”. Between then Airi has continuously toured, and released her debut solo single.
“i” features 12 songs in total, including the previously released “ESCAPE” and “IDENTITY”. Airi co-wrote and composed the music for 4 tracks on the album, “Betsu no Hito no Kanoko ni Natta yo”, “Hana Uta”, “Kimagure” and “Watashi no Migigawa [Takuroku]”.
Actress Yu Yamada recently linked up with UK fashion designer and former singer Victoria Beckham!
Yu was in Beverly Hills attending a special showcase for Victoria’s self titled luxury fashion line. The event was held at Neiman Marcus, a popular high end department store. Wearing a green frilly top and a brown shirt Victoria shared a photo of the two on her official Instagram account, stating that she loved meeting her.
A few days ago Yu shared additional photos on her own official account. She called Victoria very sweet and friendly, and was full of compliments for the new collection encouraging her fans to pick up some pieces.
Arashi and Yonezu Kenshi have collaborated on a new song titled “Kite.” The song serves as the “NHK 2020 Song”, which is a support song for the younger generation in the year of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Arashi will debut the Kenshi creation “Kite” at the 70th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. After that, it will be used for various NHK programs and services, including its sports programs.
This week, Kinki Kids topped the Hot 100 single chart with their new single “Hikari no Kehai”, with 18,135 points.
UVERworld topped the Hot Albums chart with their new album “UNSER.”
Official HIGE DANdism also topped the Streaming Songs chart for the 29th consecutive week with “Pretender.”
Yonezu Kenshi retook the top spot on the the Download Songs chart with his single “Uma to Shika”, topping the chart for the 11th non-consecutive week.
UVERworld also topped the Download Albums chart with “UNSER.”
