On April 6, NTV announced that it will be halting production effective the same day as part of its measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. For a period of 2 weeks, the studio will taking a break from studio recording of variety programs, location shoots of other programs, and studio recording / location shoots for dramas.

The studio has already imposed other measures such as monitoring temperatures and restricting entrance to their building and formed a team to support program production and promote telework.

TBS has previously announced that it will postpone location and studio recordings of dramas and varieties until the 19th. TV TOKYO also announced that recording is suspended. Other TV networks are likely to follow, in anticipation of the government announcing a state of emergency this week.

King & Prince has dropped the music video from their latest single “Mazy Night”. The song is one of the double theme songs for the upcoming drama “Miman Keisatsu: Midnight Runner” starring member Hirano Sho and Sexy Zone’s Nakajima Kento. Sexy Zone will be providing the other theme song titled “Run”.

In the drama, Hirano and Nakajima play as cadets at the police academy. To match the drama theme, police drill exercises are incorporated in the choreography for the new song. Universal Music has uploaded the 3 minute short version MV but it’s region blocked, so you can watch the MV at the alternate links below.

Japan, like the rest of the world, is currently dealing with the novel coronavirus COVID-19. People are being encouraged to stay at home in order to stop the virus’ spread. Hoshino Gen has decided to promote the cause!

On March 3, he posted a new song on his Instagram page, “Uchi de Odorou” (“Let’s Dance at Home”). The lyrics encourage listeners to stay at home, with lyrics such as “Let’s sing at home, beyond sadness” and “Let’s live and meet again.”
