Japan, like the rest of the world, is currently dealing with the novel coronavirus COVID-19. People are being encouraged to stay at home in order to stop the virus’ spread. Hoshino Gen has decided to promote the cause!
On March 3, he posted a new song on his Instagram page, “Uchi de Odorou” (“Let’s Dance at Home”). The lyrics encourage listeners to stay at home, with lyrics such as “Let’s sing at home, beyond sadness” and “Let’s live and meet again.”
He then asked if anyone would like to add other instruments, a chorus, or choreography to the song.
Gen started a trend on social media, with people putting their own spin on “Uchi de Odorou”, including other celebrities.
