On February 14, Perfume held a digital event for their “P.T.A.” fan club members to celebrate the fan club’s 13th anniversary. During the event, fans were given behind the scenes access to Perfume making a TikTok video, in particular a dance cover of Sakanaction‘s “Shin Takarajima.” They weren’t able to get the dance right during the event, but they did later on, releasing it on TikTok.
In a September interview with Natalie, Perfume revealed that they want to dance behind Sakanaction, performing “Shin Takarajima” while wearing skirts, like in the music video.
Sakanaction frontman Ichiro Yamaguchi saw Perfume’s dance cover of his song, saying that he felt as if he had received Valentine’s Day chocolate from the group.

Just recently news broke that Juice=Juice sub-leader Sayuki Takagi was involved with the “King of Shibuya” Yuuri. The tabloid who broke the news, Bunshun, reached out to Hello!Project’s agency and Yuuri’s record label but both gave a statement saying that they do not comment on the private life of their talent.
Self described “JK-HOP” group Boom Trigger has released a teaser for one of the songs from their upcoming mini album titled “Only One / Guerilla’s Way”. Through their activities, the group hopes to establish a new genre by combining J-pop, K-pop, and hip-hop.
Their official YouTube channel has uploaded a very short teaser for “Guerilla’s Way”, described as a cool and sexy song suitable for a “KJ-HOP” name. The other a-side on the single “Only One” was written and produced by Mukai Taichi. Check out the teaser below:
Last year, one of the biggest hits on streaming in Japan with over 100 million streams domestically was the artist Yuuri’s Dry Flower. Since August of last year when Yuuri debuted with Peter Pan he has seen catastrophic success, with a Music Station debut scheduled for this month. Dry Flower has been so successful, it is the third most played song in history on streaming in Japan.
Rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their formation with the release of a brand new digital single titled “Flare“. The group was formed when they were in Junior High back in in 1996, 3 years later their 1st album “FLAME VEIN” was released under the indie label High Line Records. The following year they released their first single under the major label “TOY’S FACTORY” titled “Diamond”.
The band released a statement on “Flare” asking everyone who has supported them to listen to their newest songs, thanking them with gratitude for their immense support thus far. Check out the MV for “Flare” below:
