Seiko Oomori releases ‘Kyurukyuru’ PV

Singer-songwriter faux-idol Seiko Oomori has posted the music video for her major debut single ‘Kyurukyuru’ to her YouTube channel.

With her screamy Jun Togawa-esque vocals, Oomori is encapsulated in a truck haven of pink and pastel knickknacks. Once it stops, passersby give her weird looks and she breaks free, and breaks other things like guitars and her Stretch Armstrong stretchy arms.

It’s quite the sight. Check it out below!

Featured Artist: Suiyoubi no Campanella

Hello, AramaJapan readers! I am here today with the second installment of our featured artist series. The artist I am presenting to you today is Suiyoubi no Campanella.

Who is Suiyoubi no Campanella?

Suiyoubi no Campanella is a group composed of Koumai, Kenmochi Hidefumi, and Dir.F. Koumai is in charge of performing the songs while Hidefumi is in charge of the creation of the music. Dir.F’s role is kinda mysterious. He’s kinda like the handyman of the group, as in he does whatever is needed of him, including directing some of their music videos. The only person you will see in this group is Koumai. Hidefumi and Dir.F are behind-the-scenes only so far. The group’s name is a Japanese/Italian hybrid that translates into “Wednesday’s Little Bell.” The “Wednesday” part comes into play due to the fact that when the group was forming, they would routinely meet on Wednesdays. They formed in 2012, releasing a demo and putting songs on YouTube. So far, they’ve released 3 mini albums, a cover mini album, 4 demos, and 5 special releases through the music site OTOTOY.

chay Gets Upbeat with ‘Summer Darling’ PV

Well, if Nishino Kana has ‘Darling’, chay has ‘Summer Darling’. Meet chay, singer-songwriter from Tokyo who debuted in 2012 under Warner Music. In university, she started playing the guitar and performing on the street. She has expanded her activities and got signed as an exclusive model for magazine CanCam.

Following her last single ‘Twinkle Days’, a CM song for Pantene, she’s back with an upbeat summer single as her 4th release scheduled for August 20. Coupling song ‘Koi no Tonari Kara’ was used as the CanCam May CM theme, which also explains the cover for the LE of the single. Check out the single details and the PV of the catchy, upbeat song which you could add to your summer playlist.

‘ARASHI BLAST in HAWAII’ Set at Ko Olina Resort

Where exactly is Arashi holding their 15th year anniversary concerts in Hawaii? The group is coming back to Hawaii, the place of their debut, on September 19 and 20 to hold ‘ARASHI BLAST in Hawaii’. Expected to draw about 30,000 fans, it was confirmed that the concert will take place at Ko Olina Resort in West Oahu. They will be performing on a special open-air stage with a view of the ocean, set up on a vacant oceanfront parcel between the first and second lagoons of the resort, near the Aulani- a Disney Resort & Spa. The influx of mostly Japanese visitors who will be attending the concerts should provide a huge economic boost to the area.

Open to mostly FC members, a package comes with the concert ticket, tour, airline fare and accommodation (3-5 days). Arashi is currently the spokesperson for JAL (Japan Airlines) but since they don’t have enough for the planned 100 chartered flights, all airlines that have regular flights to Honolulu will be used to ferry attendees.

moumoon Releases PV for ‘I’m Scarlet’

‘I’m Scarlet’ is moumoon’s 18th single and is currently being used as theme song for the TBS drama “Tokyo Scarlet” starring Mizukawa Asami. The song was already released digitally last August 6 and the physical single will be out on August 27.

The PV was mostly shot in monochrome, set to the song’s more minimalist sound of guitar and electronic, and message which speaks of hope in times of despair.
