As previously reported, all-girl band Akai Koen is set to release their second album “Moretsu Rythmique” on September 24. On August 27, they released the album track “NOW ON AIR” as a pre-release digital promo single. We now have the full music video for “NOW ON AIR.” The music video features a cast of young women around Akai Koen’s age lounging around on the floor while the band, also on the floor, performs the song. Rock band THE SPOONIE had released the audio for their song ‘Beautiful Life‘ back in May, but the finally got around to uploaded the video today for their new mini album’s release.
THE SPOONIE was formed in 2010 by a group of friends all born in 1989, the first year of the Heisei period. With a sound heavily inspired by British rock and a lead vocalist with a voice reminiscent of American rocker Jeff Buckley, THE SPOONIE takes in inspiration and references foreign music often. Their anticipated first mini album, ‘SKIN’, was released today and features 7 tracks that show off their unique take on international rock music.

As previously reported, JUJU is set to release her new single “Last Scene” on September 17. “Last Scene” serves as the theme song for the NHK drama Seijo, starring Ryoko Hirosue. The music video for “Last Scene” has been released. The video is heavily performance-based, with scenes of JUJU on stage singing alone and others where she is joined by a string orchestra. Former AKB48 Tomomi Kasai has released a short video for her 4th single ‘Ima sarasara‘.
Since her solo debut in 2012 with ‘Masaka‘ as the prize of winning AKB48’s horse racing bet, her transformation from an Akimoto-produced idol to an artist has allowed her the chance to branch out and release sad love songs with refreshing lyrics. In the gloomy video, she continues to show off her metamorphosis by looking her age and acting flirtatious along to the lyrics.

Up and coming band Kinoko Teikoku is set to release their second full album “Fake World Wonderland” on October 29. “Fake World Wonderland” will have 11 songs on it including the band’s limited edition single “Tokyo”, which, as reported earlier, is set for release on September 9. The band describes this new album as “catchy.” They feel as if they’ve grown as a band and even re-recorded and re-arranged some of the album’s tracks to reflect said growth. Barks reports that fairy-like electro-pop singer Yun*chi, known for doing the ending theme to the first season of popular anime Log Horizon, successfully pulled off her first performance in Indonesia last weekend. The diminutive soloist appeared at the University of Indonesia’s event J-Music LAB in Gelar Jepang in Jakarta, where she purportedly sang in front of an audience of 15,000 people, her largest yet. Kuraki has gone on to release 9 albums since, but her first album has deemed itself as a classic and cemented her spot in the Japanese music industry.
To celebrate her 15th anniversary in the entertainment business, she will be releasing a new best album ‘MAI KURAKI BEST 151A -LOVE & HOPE-‘ on November 12th, recreating the iconic fresh faced and plain clothed cover with her calm facial expression. Now 31 years old, compare her to her 17 year old self. It will come with two CDs, as the name suggests: Love and Hope.
Alternative rock band The Novembers have announced that they’ll be releasing their 5th studio album ‘Rhapsody in beauty’ this year on October 15th. The album is centered around the theme of ‘beauty’ and has been described by the band as the most avant-garde record they’ve made in their career.
In support of this new release, the band intend to embark on their third tour this year – ‘THE NOVEMBERS Tour – Romance -‘. The Novembers will be on the road from the middle of October through the end of November, with the list of tour dates available on their official website.
